Pop!_OS 21.04 Full Review - Cosmic is Awesome!

Pop!_OS 21.04 features the new "COSMIC" desktop workflow, with a host of new features. New features include a dock, dedicated interfaces for workspaces and applications, and much more. In this video, I'll give you a full review of 21.04 and let you know my thoughts.

Pop Os simply just works out of the box. I have recently gone back to it on one of my laptops because I needed a gnome desktop that's polished and works out of the box. I like how its LTS version uses kernel 5.11 instead of 5.4 like everything else. Great distro

Having used Pop_os a few times before I was pleasantly surprised when Cosmic 22.04 landed. I am now using Cosmic 22.04 as my daily driver on a t14s ThinkPad Gen 1. Also thinking about using it for my desktop with my HP Spectre, after if gets converted to a Linux (pop_os Cosmic workstation). This is just great, mind you I just started in Linux 2-3 years ago and will be 75 in October, never too old to learn the wonderful world of Linux.

I really like the Pop OS recovery partition as well. I think it's the first distro I've tried that actually does this for you by default during installation.

I just took the plunge on Pop!_OS 21.04 and I am very, very happy with the results. It is super snappy on this OBS Streaming/Programming workstation I built. I'm really digging it. Next thing I need to do is hook up my Elgato HD60 S+ and do some test streams. Your video definitely solidified the choice I made today. Keep up the great work as always!

A. Mr. Jay you're a great and knowledgeable resource. I look to your YouTube channel when I have a tech related question. You give insite on technology beyond Linux.

B. Mr. Jay you're a great instructor and teacher. You could teach anything. You give the viewer a chance to absorb the information being presented. You don't suffer from diarrhea of the mouth.

C. Mr. Jay I like the professional introduction to each of your videos. You inform the viewer of the subject (s) being covered in each of your videos. A lot of Tech YouTubers don't do that. They jump directly in what they are presenting. The viewer no idea of what is being presented and becomes confused as to what the video is about. Great Job!!!

D. Mr. Jay your videos are self contained. The viewer doesn't have stop a video. Watch separate video and comeback the original video.

E. Mr. Jay you don't overload your videos with unrelated information and useless information. You stay on topic. Great Job!!!.

F. Mr. Jay you've wise wisdom and uncommon common sense.

I installed Pop OS on my old laptop yesterday. I am very impressed with how the software responded to the hardware. The layout or GUI is really well thought out by System 76. I had all my programs up and running within 20 minutes. I think if I buy a new laptop this will come by default.

Loving the Pop! As one switching back and forth between MacOS/Linux, the System76 take on the DE is really appreciated. A lot of similarities on the flow of the DE now.

I've come to appreciate using hot keys. Pop!'s tiling got me using keyboard shortcuts, and now I really like them; so I don't need a dock. I like having the hidden dock, however. I also hid my top bar and my window buttons. Alt m, h, and q work fine for me. Alt brings up the top bar and the doc, etc. when I want to see the time or power down.

i wanted to try pop for so long and finally did it. i had my laptop dual booted with mint and windows and now, got mint and pop os dual booted. havent used my mint since 🤣
