The best way to protect someone who is a victim of bullying is to make sure they feel loved and wanted. Parents often fail this by spending too much time at work and show to little interest in their children setting them up with a low selfconfidence and by that target for bullying.

The advice given here might have some good benefit for the bullied but the feeling of low worth cant be rationalised away, it can only be remediced by love.

Love is shown by showing interest, being engaged in someones life. Ask how they are doing, what they think about stuff, if they want to join you in games, or other activities.

Its not that hard.

I don't have children so that's not really applicable. But I certainly have experienced workplace bullying.

the personality of the child is key when we have to deal with bullying. The sensitive child needs to be removed from the environment ASAP. Do not address the issue at all if the child is sensitive. Just get the child out of there. The other child personalities are fine to deal with bullying at school.

I'm dealing with an adult bully. I just moved in with 2 new roommates 3 months ago. The lady who owns the home is great, but the 76 year old has started bullying me and disrespecting me even in public. I keep talking to good roommate about it. But can't seem to even talk to the other one without her going off on me. I didn't hear you talk about adult bullies

I went to school in the 70s through the early 80s and the way I was told to handle it back then would be considered totally wrong now and I do agree that it is wrong. My brothers, older brothers, used to tell me that if somebody bullied me and I didn’t punch them, then they were going to punch me. Later on when I got to high school, I decided what I would do is seek out all the ones that I saw getting bullied And we would all hang out together because there was safety in numbers and unfortunately it was large numbers because there was a lot of bullying back then that went unpunished.

1 Preventstive & proactive. Not everyone is going to like you)
2 Get community involvement (to assist)
3) Help the (person) child @ home to hear that your child's not the problem=the bully is. Prepare & practice skills with your child to help themselves

When you say it takes a community, and then name all these positions such as teachers, you're assuming that they all want to help. In reality, too many couldn't care less. We live in a very flawed world, and people seem to be less inclined to care in today's world.

Thank you for this information. Bullying goes on with adults too in the workplace big time. It's so hurtful difficult to deal with and it comes with undermining someone by those in management or even from other colleagues. Even though the victim is a good worker. Trying to establish the root cause is hard in different places/countries. There are race issues in many places as the world is changing and peoples movement to other countries is not welcome so for all types of reasons and usually the victim is a quiet personality/characteristic /different or something in them that may show as weak. I even got to believing after been told by church leaders that it's also spiritual/ attacks as a believer carries Christ Jesus in them. Unbelivers secular world people don't like as it disturbs their demons. This bullying keeps happening in a person's work place even after changing jobs.
