When I was bullied in 6th grade I wasn’t trying to hurt anyone but no matter what I did it would still happen to me so I had to defend my self...

I felt really bad for punching the bully but it was getting out of hand and I wasn’t the only victim but if your reading this comment and your being bullied have your self defense as something you would do if nothing else worked

I lost $80 because of the bully-

Thank you for this video and ideas! My Kindergarten daughter has told me about another Kindergartener pinching her face and turning her face so she doesn't look out of the window on the bus each day she goes to school. This needs to be nipped in the butt now and a great opportunity to teach my daughter early. My initial thought was just to sit her somewhere else, but it is not teaching her to teach others to respect her - you nailed it thank you!. I tried to think of the most simple words my 5 year old can use that she is comfortable with to deal with this herself in an uncomfortable situation. "Don't touch my face. I don't like it. It is rude".

Tickling is dangerous and shouldn't be taken lightly. My mother tickled me so much that I could no longer scream or breathe. My self preservation instincts kicked in and I kicked my mother to make her stop (she got so pissed of at me for doing that that she beat the shit out of me. She never realised that I was suffocating). I was about 4 years old at the time. It was a very traumatic experience that now it is dangerous to tickle me even a little coz of my reflexes that I no longer control. One of my colleagues at work though it would be fun to come up behind me ant tickle me. It ended bad for her, she got elbowed in her stomach so bad. After thad to explain to everyone at work why they should never tickle me to keep them safe coz I cannot control this self preservation instinct when being tickled due to my past experience.

I appreciate the text that you add to your videos. For the hearing impaired, that makes all the difference!

That’s kind of BS. Bullying can start with mean spirited teasing.

I LOVE AND 100% AGREE W/EVERY video of yours that I've viewed so far, and I AGREE w/this one, BUT...although the part you say about reporting it to either the authorities at school or at the police station SHOULD work...it simply DOESN'T! To keep it brief...they either end up punishing BOTH, the bully AND the victim (just b/c the victim, so much as defended him/herself verbally or physically), or they end up DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AT ALL (by either MAKING FALSE PROMISES RE PUNISHING THE BULLY, or by MAKING A LAME EXCUSE FOR THE BULLY)!!! A N D, if they DO punish the bully, it's usually by merely saying, "Just don't do it again." And THIS is when, the bully comes back WITH A VENGEANCE!!! :, (

What about compassion? Real strength lies in kindness. Any socially unacceptable behaviour is actually not the problem, because it's the expression of a problem. Dealing with behavioural issues only scratches the surface and won't change much at all. Understanding the root cause, however, and dealing with that would address the key issue. Police is definitely the wrong line to call. I remember the news from handcuffed school kids, or officers saying to children "stop behaving like a child." While bullying is seen unacceptable, and it is indeed, it can be a learning opportunity to become stronger and more compassionate towards others.
