I use Xeons together with Quadros for video production at work. They don't crash. That's pretty important.

Too everyone watching this, it’s 2022 I am using a Xeon 1620 Sandy bridge from 2012 that is 4C 8THs base:3.6 it says it’s turbo is 3.8 but it really is 3.691. ANYWAYS it is still banging 1080P high setting games without bottlenecking My 1650 gddr6 gpu. Great shit

Good stuff. I’ll definitely take a look at your other videos about hyper threading.

Very well explained, I find it easier to learn more about computers from this channel than any other channel that I have come across.

there is another aspect the Xenon's excel at, budget used parts, with the MBs coming out of China, you can get some GREAT bang for buck, though there are trade offs, it's still a really good bargain.

back in the socket 939 days, I noticed a significant difference between the athlon and the opteron processor. the athlon would crash or freeze in heavy gameplay., but the opteron could game forever with no issues, even in the most demanding games of the day. nowadays you can build yourself a machine learning crypto mining gaming and video editing beast with all the things, and it will do all the things. 52k Usd could build something most people should agree is overkill six ways from sunday, like two gold series xeon 6240R (94 threads), 1.5TB ECC RAM, 4 48GB RTX A6000 GPUS, 8TB NVME SSD and a bunch of other meat on the bones like fancy case, fancy whatever, the days of supercomputing for enthusiasts have arrived :D

I recently bought Z640 work station and switching from ROG GL752. XEON is a killer machine believe me core series is nothing as compared to XEON. most of the video rendering is done on XEON like all the news rooms, video editors etc.

For virtualizing or hypervisor 1 with more cache memory the xeon are simply unbeatable... (macos and windows running at same linux machine flawless...)

Just paid £13 for a Xeon e5 2680 v4.. Well worth the money! Considering it was $1745.00 at launch.

if you are a gamer on a budget you can couple x79(Ivybridge) or x99(haswell/broadwell) era xeons that use 2011 or 2011-3 socket with a Chinese x79 or x99 desktop motherboard and you can still game. They also make solid office/work PCs especially when using quad channel ecc ram configurations
