Well .. in this case you can just ignore the 4 because 3/4 is smaller than 9/10
which means that the answer is going to be 4 something.
9/10 - 3/4 = 36/40 - 30/40 = 6/40 = 3/20 answer 4 3/20
A harder question would be 4 3/4 - 9/10 = ?
