This is one of those "oh, I thought that was just a me thing" things

At some point I decided different colors was too much pressure. Now I have 10 identical copies of two outfits, one for at home and one for leaving the house

I buy the same clothes 2-3 times at once in the same colour. Probably because guys are judged less on clothes. Or because I am oblivious to my clothes and to what others think about my clothes.

I thought everyone did this. You buy what’s comfortable in multiple colours because you don’t know when that same item will be stock again. Or if it’s gonna ever come back, but I worked retail so idk maybe that influenced my thinking

I'm 39, and EVERYTHING you post describes me. Thanks for making me feel understood.

I pick an outfit at some point during the year and wear it pretty much on repeat until I get sick of it. It reduces decision fatigue which gives me a few extra points of energy to use throughout the day

YES. I do this. And I love it. Specially for pants, I look for my favorite one and remember it’s in the wash and pout a bit, AND THEN I FIND A SECOND PAIR THAT IS THE EXACT SAME. Pure bliss.

I recently found out im AuDHD and your shorts not only help me understand my own behaviors, but my family's as well. 😂 my grandmother used to shop from catalogs and would order one item to try then immediately order every color they offered if she liked it. Lol

All I wear are black leggings and the same shirt in 8 colors. Exclusively wear one brand of socks, underwear, and bras. Have been wearing the same hoodie, sweater, and winter coat for 2-3 years going. The simplicity is heaven!!

I'm a wheelchair user and I do the same with clothes that are easy to put on and don't bother me.
So even if I'm not neurodivergent... I feel you.

I DO THE SAME THING. I have ocd and adhd so sometimes think it’s the ocd that gets me to buy the same shirt AND same color (fear of it getting dirty and ruined, ) but the adhd part of me is particular about clothes from a sensory stance and the way clothes feel on me.

I do this so much that people think I haven't changed clothes since the last time I saw them. I call it my uniform. If a shirt fits, wears well and goes through the laundry well.... I have at least 10 of them. Same for pants. Winter clothing is different pants, shirts, coats, socks and shoes. Changing out my closet each season is a challenge on my old worn out body.

I didn't know this was a thing for others as well. I hate shopping, not in the least because I also have a chronic pain disorder, but because it is so difficult to find things that fit nicely and don't irritate every sense I have for hours on end. I found a super silky soft turtle neck top that was a pleasure to wear, and went back to buy it in every colour in my size. It was tricky because there were other colours that looked the same but felt scratchy.

I actually have clothes from years ago that are worn out or broken in some way so that I can find a tailor to make me a copy. I can just never find them again in the shops, and this way I'll have clothes I know I like and I know won't drive me INSANE throughout the day
I also take the labels off everything. I will literally borrow someones scissors to cut the threads so I can throw the whole scratchy offending label away without leaving scratchy bits behind.

Lol I 100% do this! I get sad when stores stop carrying an item I loved too. Like, I've been buying and wearing the same thing for 10 years, just let me have this.

I’m legit crying right now. I have never felt more seen before this.❤

I have the same dress in 3 colours, they're all thrifted, so finding it again and again in my size is like a treasure hunt at this point, it's super comfy but buying it new is outside of my price range.

Literally, every single thing you do, I do too! I am legitimately beginning to think that I am someone who is undiagnosed, like have I lived my entire life undiagnosed? It’s such a trip when I think about it 🤔😳

AuDHDer here, do the same, at least 3 colour of each item once I find what I like

It's so hard to find something that is
- Comfortable/Ergonomic
- Functional
- Aesthetically pleasing

Yeah as a man with adhd i do that too 😅 I have 4 different colour exact same T-shirt for 5 of each . Plus bulk purchases are cheaper.
