I just moved to germany and I never had mett beofre, but what I ate was tatare in fancy restaurants, so raw meat wasn't new to me.
Still I think raw meat is nasty and I can't touch it TO MY SURPRISE I am obsessed with Mettbrötchen and eat it every other day.
It's so savory and delicious.

I tried it recently in Aachen. I loved it. It reminds me of a Chilean dish of German origin, we call it Crudo and we make it with raw beef on toast, onion, black pepper, mustard, lemon, pickles, cilantro. I also love it.

Mett is amazing, but it needs onions, salt and pepper. Usually, I would agree, raw pork is not ok, but Germany is pretty strict with rules and regulations, it is absolutely safe to eat mett, but you shouldn't keep it for long, it's prepared fresh and has to be consumed within MAX 48 hours when storing it in the fridge.

My wife is dutch and I'm British and it freaks me out when she gets minced pork and eats it raw straight out the packet lol, I have tried it with a spice mix called kruiden 1 on it and it's weirdly really good

This is funny. I’m American but my grandpa is German. I’ve been seeking to try more German food after realizing I love it. And I had to try this sausage Mettwurst. I got 4 pounds and i actually like it. It feels wrong but it’s also what I like about it.
