Edit: ok so I wrote this comment when I was kinda new to genshin and all I heard was that it was hard to be f2p currently I am ar 55 with wanderer, nahida, yoimiya, venti, c1 diluc, c1 keqing and a c1 qiqi so I know that it's not that hard being f2p so you guys can stop telling me that it's not hard to be f2p cuz it's getting slightly annoying 🙂

5 months to guarantee... Genshin has been going on for 23 months, and I've played for 20 of those months. I guess that's why I have 4 Event 5 Stars, Eula, Ganyu, Raiden, and Xiao. Existence is pain.
Update: And then in the 3 months since this comment I got both Kazuha and Cyno having won the 50/50 on both. Nice.
Update: And then in the 3 months after the first update I have now won the 50/50 to get Ayato, Alahaitham, and Yelan (although with the caveat that I have been buying Welkin Moon) God Damn. Luck went through the roof after this comment.

Pretty proud of myself for earning 180 wishes as a relative newbie in just over 2 months. I started the game late december and grinded for Raiden, then didn't spend a single primogem until I had my 180 wishes saved for my favourite character, Klee.
I ended up earning way over 180 by the time Klee's banner dropped, and at the point I actually wished for Klee, I had 60 pity, around 170 wishes, AND in the time since Raiden's banner, had gotten Nahida, Mona and Nilou without risking my chance to get Klee.
Ah, those were the days when I had so much exploration left to do. Alas, it is becoming much harder.

As a f2p who's been playing for 4 months I got 3 limited 5 stars and two of them were guaranteed... but nearly all my map is cleared out and I got near 700 achievements plus all story quests and hangouts cleared off. Now I'm 100%sure my late game would be a huge hell farming for primos　☠️

What's more important than getting primos is unfortunately, either have a credit card at bay or you have a lucky account that could change everything

For those who want to know how long it would take a more casual player to save that much, I am a casual player and I have been saving for almost a year now. I have somewhere between 170-180 wishes now. I started saving around 0ctober 2021 at the end of Kokomi's release banner.

Mean while me who reach the pinnacle of my acc and f2p clear the spiral abyss floor 12 chamber 3 I'm so glad that I was able to clear it as a free to play and almost 6 month old acc

surprisingly, i get really lucky with my pulls- (this is so long no ones gonna read it💀)
i started around the end of ganyus rerun (i think) and managed to get yae right away with 33 pulls. then, i did a few pulls for kokomi here and there and didnt get her (rip) and pulled for venti and got him early, around 40 or so. then, i began to save up for kazuha, getting about 100-ish pulls during ayakas extended banner, which i ended up pulling on because i really wanted her. that one was not so lucky, i lost to qiqi early and went all the way to 80 to get her. then, i was back at only 20. i pulled on xiaos banner as a joke days later, because i was only at 3 pity w no guarantee and only had two ten pulls and lo and behold, i got him at 17 pity. then kazuhas banner was announced shortly after and i had to speedrun getting primos, so i got to abt 85 and when i pulled for him, i got extremely lucky and pulled qiqi at 15 pity and then got kazuha two ten pulls later, leaving me about 50 pulls which i used on yoimiya and won my 50/50!

This is excluding world quests and world exploration and of new areas and achievements which also give a lot
Also the main event of the patch gives more than 420 primos
(Around 1000 but im not too sure)
Also you are more likely to get a five star in around 150 wishes because the soft pity system makes it very hard to get to pity 90 after pity 74
So you will get a five star sooner than than 151 days
From my experience playing genshin you get enough for a single five star every update (the characters you get from losing the 50/50 also count)
What takes longer is getting a 5 star from standard cuz the game usually offers 10 per update
(Sometimes we get more because of new locations coming with trees and items that we can level up like the sacred sakura or the tree of dreams or lumenstone adjuvant)
