FAST Switching 2-in-1 Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto Dongle | MINIX CP85 Wireless Adapter Review

TLDR: The MINIX CP85 is a 2-in-1 wireless adapter for CarPlay and Android Auto, offering fast boot times (10 seconds for CarPlay, 14 seconds for Android Auto) and smooth performance. It features a physical switch button for easy device switching, though it requires disconnecting Bluetooth on the current device first. While not as seamless as the discontinued DRERYRIT adapter, it’s one of the best options for multi-user support. However, both adapters are reportedly being discontinued, so grab one soon if you’re interested in multi-device support and wireless functionality.

I really appreciate your reviews! I have a 2019 Toyota RAV4, which does not have Android Auto installed, nor is it able to be installed. It only has Apple CarPlay. Ottocast has 3 devices I could purchase that will allow me to use Android Auto on my car. I am leaning toward the Car TV Mate Max. Since you have reviewed the Minix and other devices, are there others that I should consider that will work on my RAV4. In 2020, Toyota started putting Android Auto on some their vehicles. Would appreciate your recommendation. Note: I really only care about getting Android Auto to work. I am not interested in having Netflix, YouTube, or playing videos via the device. Many thanks!

Thank you for your video! Like!
In early times Minix used to produce high-quality IPTV set-top boxes. For example, minix neo u9, neo x7 etc. But that's all in the past. I may be wrong, but it's not the same Minix anymore. Only the logo remains, like many Japanese/Hong Kong companies. The trademark has passed to mainland China. But what about quality, that is the question?

As far as I understand, this adapter will connect automatically to the last connected iPhone. Does the button allows to switch to another known iPhone when two users are using the same car?

I see the DRERYRIT is no longer available. Aside from this Minix device are there any other good switchable dongles or AI boxes out there yet .. I'm getting frustrated in Kia Sportage trying to switch between wifes iPhone and my android .. cheers in advance J

Imo i think all these boxes are kinda shitty. Better off using android auto from your phone and buying an hdmi converter box for media
