Zero initiative, zero agency, zero ownership of the job. Pestering the CEO probably flagged her as problematic.

My youngest employee is in his 40's. Been with us 9ish years. We still call him Junior. But my clients all have horror stories about hiring recent grads. Taking two "mental health" days off the first week because they "just can't." Showing up whenever. Spending more time in HR trying to restructure the culture of the company than doing their job. Not a smart move with so many experienced people out of work right now.

With all the lay offs, you know the job market is going to suck.

She literally has a graphics designer degree and struggled to know what to do...let that sink in

Nothing makes a manager angrier than you going over their head before even approaching them for help.

I bet she grossly overstated her abilities and experience level. The job was probably for someone that was a self starter, she obviously wasn't.

This is the biggest disconnect for me... if she was so HORRIFIED at being fired, I can’t imagine why she would announce it to the world. Utterly bizarre. Can’t wrap my mind around it.

Years later, this woman is gonna regret behaving like this.

I think that's one thing a lot of these young brats don't understand: employers don't hired people to TEACH them anything, they hire people with the expectation that they can already DO THEIR JOB.

I laugh at the person saying "FIle that unemployment" You have to work at LEAST 6 months for any kind of unemployment, at least in my state.

Never worked before... "They don't know how to train me."

My dad taught himself how to be a graphic designer. She probably isn't learning anything because she isn't spending any extra time to research stuff on her own. If she didn't know how to do stuff, she should've made them aware from the get go.

Some people just don't know how to work or want to either.

Young people are telling her the wrong thing because they have no clue older people are saying she should have been fired because they have lived the experience

As a graphic designer, she is supposed to walk up to the people working and ask to shadow, ask what she can do to help, smile and say you're ready for the grunt work, because that's what you've been hired for until you prove yourself. Take some initiative.

I've worked in the design industry for over 15 years, the sheer amount of people who lie about their skill-set is insane. But you get caught out very fast in the design industry, bigger questions would be, what level is she coming in at? Design assistant, junior, mid-weight? all levels need a element of managment / project management.

Damn how do you get fired in 5 days. At my current job we had a lady physically push another lady then go to HR and say said lady pushed her first they then fired the victim and the crazy lady got fired 4 weeks later because she smeared poo all over the womans bathroom.

I worked at a factory that tended to hire most of their supervisors fresh out of college. Some of them were good, some were bad, most were...OK.
My first supervisor at that factory had never had a job before, and now was in charge of a room with like 20 people in it. He listened to his trainer and superiors for the first few months, then decided he knew everything he needed to know. He started making a bunch of mistakes and argued with anyone who tried to help him.
So, by his 4th month, they were looking for a reason to fire him. Then he walked up to a machine that wasn't properly locked out, and turned it on without checking inside. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but that was the one that got him fired

If her claims were true, she should've gone to her immediate management and let them know how poorly the training experience was going.

I am always surprised by the number of people we hire who want a paycheck but don't want to work. I always recommend they run for public office.
