I just love that she's a really, really girly girl but she's strong and independent, showing that those two things don't exclude each other

She dropped that bonehead like last season's Prada shoes

And the reason she went to college was for him but when he wanted to take her back she said no. You go girl you have proved that anything is possible

He should have apologized for all the times he looked down on her. And admitted that he only got into Harvard because of his dad.

I always found the ending so satisfying and also love that she and Vivien ended up being best friends :)

I love how marriage and kids isn’t the happy ending in this movie

The audacity of Warner to still think Elle is trying to get him back. I love that Emmett was part of Elle's happy ending and not the entire thing.

Fun Fact: this scene wasnt in the original cut. It was added when test audience felt Elle didnt get her revenge on Warner

warner definitely lived to regret his decision in this scene and this quote applies perfectly for this scene, "if someone isn't in your corner during your worst of times, they don't deserve to be in your corner during your best of times."

I LOVE the way that Elle gave Warner the final heave ho. No drama, no hysterics just straightforward the facts as they are/ were. A real attorney with her head screwed on the right way.
You GO girl.

"Warner graduated without honors, without a girlfriend, and without any job offers."
Because when Warner tried to walk on his own without his daddy or a girlfriend holding his hand, he fell flat on his face.

I always wondered why Alaric Saltzman looked so familiar. Then I rewatched this movie, and realised that it's the same guy who played Warner :D

She told him. Showed that a woman (especially a blonde) can be smart and self-reliant. She has self-respect, confidence, and won't come crawling

I like the original line from the draft better. She tells Warner something similar to what he told her when she was in the bunny costume, about not being serious. And in that scene, Vivian sees this and removes her ring.

Elle is a powerful woman! People say, "its just a comedy, don't take it so seriously!" But I love how they used comedy to help break misogynistic stereotypes such as beautiful, girly women can't be smart & successful or that they are more fit to be trophy wives. I love how they use El to show that just because women are breaking into more traditionally male dominated fields such as law, science and engineering doesn't mean they need to change themselves to conform with the stereotypical "masculine" behaviors, communication styles and manner of presentation to be successful. I see people saying "its just a comedy, don't take it so seriously". But stereotypes such as "beautiful, blonde women are dumb" are created subconsciously through the aid of media which will depict them as such, often as comedy relief. So isn't it fitting to use media to break stereotypes media created? Fight comedy with comedy and fire with fire! 🎤🔥

What makes this movie great is that when she first came to college, she did it to get her boyfriend back. But once she used her brain and met new people she learned she doesn’t need someone telling her, her worth. She does. And when she saw how she can do the work just like everyone else she saw herself in a new limelight.~
Reese Witherspoon did such a great, excellent job giving her character a bubbly personality.~

I bet he regrets dumping her now. She was the whole package but all he could see was her looks

I really love back then they played on the stereotype where she is more interested in hair, beauty and fashion also ended up becoming a successful lawyer. It proves that you shouldn't judge people.
