I'm in Australia and I've done housekeeping, and at the several hotels I've worked for, you'd get dismissed if you don't change ALL the sheets regardless! And the mangers of cleaning check the standards!!!

My mom as worked in house keeping for over 15 years and I can tell you the sheet and pillow one is incorrect for any hotel that has passed inspection and they usually just thought them away and they have to log the sheets and pillows they clean.

They only don't change your sheets IF you're going to stay a second night. This makes it sound like they don't wash sheets between clients, that's just untrue. I've traveled a lot and stayed at many different places, they all changed sheets after I left the room (I usually stayed a while after checkout at the pool or gym and saw them).
One tip I would give is to look for hotels using incognito. The prices change depending on how long you've been searching to pressure you into getting a room and they will keep adding to the "x number of people are looking at this room, book soon" messages as well to make it look like they're filling up fast. It's not true.

Actually HK always wash the sheet and always replace with new one. There a reason why we need to check in after 2pm, so that HK can change every sheet in the room before new guest check in and front desk can guarantee that the room are clean. Only cheap hotel might won't change or clean the sheet.

I've worked in hospitality for 5 years and most of this either is true or as true at some point. The sheets only being straightened was true before covid but now they all get washed daily, the concierge thing is 100% true and often times the hotel will have tickets to a sold out concert so that's how we can assist some loyal guests, but the best time to book a hotel room for that night is right around midnight because the hotel changes days around 2 or 3am and around midnight we usually discount rooms significantly to sellout for the night.

As a guy who works and worked in 2, 5 star hotels reservations team. I can confidently say. 5pm and 6pm are the worst times to make reservations. The best time is during the morning. Because it gives enough time for the hotel be ready before the check-in time. Otherwise, when there are early checking. The house keeping can't get the room clean in time.

Housekeeping part is bullshit. All bedsheets and pillows are replaced by new ones and the old ones are given straight to the laundry straight away. If the guest gets an allergic reaction due to bodily fluids from other people, they can sue us. That actually happened.

The last one is 100% true. Bed and breakfast is Rate package.

The thing about the sheets I can tell you from personal experience that at least in the hotels that I've worked in that is not the case, between all customers we had to change the sheets and pillow cases and all that the only thing that was not changed was the very top comforter. The only reason that it wouldn't get changed as if that customer was staying more than one day so say you have someone that's checked in for 3 days during that 3-day time period housekeeping will go in and straighten the bed sheets and everything, the only way that they will actually change the sheets is again like he said if there's a visible stain or if the customer requested for them to be changed but as soon as that customer leaves those sheets come off and freshly laundered sheets go on.
