8-4 would be great. This team is significantly better than last year at pretty much every position. Crazy that you can compliment Wisconsin’s defense and not even mention Wohler or Hallman. Now they’ll have help from Thomas, Pius, Lowery, Nyzier, Delancey, Lane, Hills, Witt, and some others. Huge difference when compared to who we lost. Pauling and Trech are going to have a big season. Green, CJ, and Vinny are all really improved, Renfro can snap the ball, and the surrounding offensive line is talented and has a better coach. They have at least 7 draft picks and have a good chance at upsetting one of the big three matchups imo.

I think the ceiling for Wisconsin is 10-2, the floor is 7-5. Iowa and Nebraska are games I think we should win, but can go either way, especially if we’re banged up again. I think the game against Alabama is a trap game for Alabama. It’s early in the season in the first year of the post-Saban era, the Bama’ defense will probably take a step back from last year talent-wise, and it’s in Camp Randall. Oregon and Penn State are games we should probably lose, but if we are healthy for those games and with a bit of luck, we might have a chance against them too. The main weaknesses for Wisconsin seem to be interior run defense and experienced O-line depth in the case of injury. Neither of these weaknesses are likely to cause us to lose games we definitely should win, but could cost us in our 5 tougher games. The main concern of our interior run defense is mostly only relevant against teams with a great interior O-line, because we aren’t sure if our guys will hold up against the best of the best or not, though the good thing about this is that we have depth in our interior D-line. Speaking of depth, our O-line depth is the main offensive concern, and it’s not that we don’t have talent in the 2s O-line, but that the talent is young and inexperienced. The good thing about this is that these young players will only get better as the season progresses and 4 out of the 5 toughest games will be in the latter half of the season.

Good takes for the most part! Our receiver room is easily the best it’s ever been, Longo loves his slot receivers and with Pauling and Trech he has two players that will give DCs nightmares. Running back room is stacked, with proven talent and young players that are pushing for those reps. I think the entire season (as cliche as it may sound) depends on a good showing against Alabama. If they can play them tough, or manage a victory? Sky’s the limit (well 10-2 is probably the limit) if they get the doors blown off it could snowball to a season like last year. One thing I find very encouraging is that from all accounts this team is practicing harder, more live reps, than they ever have. One beat writer said it’s the hardest hitting football practices he’s ever watched. Tribute to Brady Collins and his strength program that we’ve been able to do that with very few major injuries. If TVD is back to his 2021 form or better, and they go toe to toe with Bama in week 3 this team will make some noise in the new big18 this year. Fick knows how to get the most out of his guys and he’s got a lot of talent to work with. LFG! On Wisconsin.

It would be nice to see Wisconsin relevant for a change.

Ironically some of the best players Wisconsin has gotten in the portal are actually the players who were not originally 4 stars. You're pretty spot on with a lot of what you said I guess a minor correction is Chimere Dike was kind of a non factor last year even when healthy, the only receiver who was that good was Will Pauling who is coming back along with highly hyped Trech Kekahuna and some reinforcements on the outside to make for a receiver group that on paper is better than last year.

I agree with you for the most part. I could see them going 10-2 with everything going right against Penn state who I think has some issues offensively. I am also not completely sold that Bama is gonna cake walk Wisconsin in weak 3. Don’t get me wrong Bama is gonna win but it’s their first true road test with a new coach. That has to play some kind of factor. I think the offense will be more smooth but not necessarily better than last year. I think the play calling and decision making will be handled better but the questions on the outside and tight end position concern me. The defense I think is going to be way better than last year. They are deep at almost every position beside DLine which might be the weakest position group of the whole team. The secondary has guys who are fast and long the linebackers are also fast and better at pass coverage than last year as well. Lastly the combo of Rico and wholer in the secondary could be trouble for some teams defiantly if they are both lined up on the same side. Overall I would say Wisconsin does go 8-4 just because they lose a game they should win.

The WR room is very good and the possibly deepest we’ve ever had.

I think my badgers just need to take care of business against Nebraska, Iowa and pull an upset to go 9-3 which is doable

Entirely possible. I'm optimistic as well, the tough games are winnable. SC may also fold after playing lsu

Wisconsin is not the B1Gs "surprise" team or sleeper. It's Indiana and Nebraska. Both of which could beat Wisconsin.

Dreamer, they have no quarterback no depth and a lot of excuses you mentioned a few just now, the teams that will find some success will be the teams that have a quarterback that has thrown and will throw a bunch more touchdowns, who are they and what teams are they playing for. Have a good day.

Michael Felli needs to check his facts, we do not play IN this year. But still not impressed with this team, probably looking at 6 losses. AL, USC, Penn State, Ore, IA and Neb. It will be a real challenge to bear Rutgers and Northwestern.
