Our slumlord's favorite trick is if we ask or need something repaired or replaced, he talks about how he can get another tenant in there that would pay more rent.
I'm in West Sacramento and unfortunately it's true because with no-fault eviction that allows landlords to get away with murder and throw you out for whatever reason. I am paying 750 for a one bedroom and I could not afford to pay anymore because I am on SSI and by myself and I won't share living space. I'm too sick to tolerate that, unless it was a husband or companion.
Anyway, that's where I see the problem A court is not going to allow a tenant to stay against the landlords wishes even if the tenant is doing nothing wrong.
The code enforcement of our area is a joke as well, and like I said if we do anything about it - well especially a female, then the landlord will just serve me with an eviction notice like he did once before but I fought it and got him to stop it.
However, I'm always afraid and it's really worsened my health.

Thanks for the information. 🌷🙂
