My stepdaughter has two degrees and is unemployed. Nobody will hire her. She's increasingly getting frustrated every day. She struggles to make her student loan payments (which are nearly $800 a month!!) My son went and got his CDL through an employment job training program. He basically worked off his tuition. He travels in his own rig and has no debt.

Child of the sixties here. Ppl said then that college graduates were a dime a dozen. Trade schools however, were then and now the most logical choice for 80-90% of high school grads. ✝️🙏🇺🇲

College is also a way to avoid working for another 4 years. I have known many “professional students” living off parents money or grants/loans.

Man, if you go to school for mechanical or structural engineering or some trade school you will have the tools and skills to be very marketable or get by on your own❤

Never, ever play the victim. Don't compare yourself to anyone else. Life is hard. Do your best.

Been a petroleum truck driver for 10 years now! Got my CDL when I turned 20, and deliver fuel to different government locations including military bases. Making over $120k a year now because of inflation! 🙌🏽

Mmmm I can tell you right now, that even with of experience and with at the same company, that very company gave away lucrative, higher paying jobs to people with "a piece of paper" over me. Most companies are like that. Do NOT be so quick to listen to people, telling you that you don't need it. You do!!!

College degrees are falling in value every day

Good talk but what does that have to do with the title of the video?

Maybe stop shipping jobs overseas, and bringing in H1-B workers for the jobs you can't?

I got a PhD and it actually kept me from getting jobs.

I always find an easy way to stop cynical people talking: tell them stop moaning and go and do something about the problem. They will just grunt unhappily. Stop talking. But do nothing.

In my junior and senior years, my guidance counselor was insistent that I would amount to nothing because I refused college . In my years since 1977, I have had 3 professions. Automotive body paint and repair, HVAC, maintenance (industrial and health care) I've been a group leader, parts manager, maintenance director, and store manager. Some worthless bottom dweller.

Study a STEM field and you've got it made for life.

This is what a VP candidate I would vote for sounds like 👍

Two types of skills are needed in any country: professional skills (engineers, doctors, lawyers, etc) and trade skills (electricians, metalworkers, plumbers, etc). The rest don’t really add value to any economy.

No one told me to go to college, but its implied in the hyper capitalist competitive hustle culture. The bigger problem is thinking owning a single family detached home is a dream for everyone. some people want the option to live simpler but unfortunately because of the scarcity of middle rise housing (because of nimbys, systems, etc)the rent is expensive

Degrees are useless. Just start your own business, and show up on time.

College is a stepping stone from high school to adulthood, at age 21. You can't legally sign a contract really until age 21... So, we send high school graduates somewhere to try to learn something, while waiting until they're 21, so they can do meaningful things in life.
