Lufthansa was amazing in 2000s. Perhaps, it was the best airline in Europe for economy class. And United...broke my Taylor guitar

United: Doctors are welcome.

Also United: You may leave as a patient.

Based on my long haul experience with both I can say that I prefer Lufthansa. I fly economy on both, Lufthansa's seating, meal service and cabin crew were better. And let's not forget about landings. Lufthansa's landing was buttery while for United I can't say the same

If united can keep it's door closed in midair and not drop a wheel during takeoff

United airline also has the added thrill of potentially being selected in Battle Royale, where the crew randomly select some passengers for beatings and throw them off the plane 😂

If Lufthansa is not on strike, its actually quite okay

At least you don’t get dragged out of a Lufthansa flight

That’s what makes Lufthansa so iconic that they keep the classics

Lufthansa specifically because of the b747-8

The Lufthansa business seat is still more comfortable than the narrow Polaris seat tho

Dan, you concentrated your comparism 99% on the hardware.
My experiences from the past with United (C, prio-pandemic) software, especially their cabin crews are horrible!! They do not care, the are unfriendly and hate if you allow yourself to disturb their chat/phonetime (which is 75% of the flight). Food on United flights: 🤢

I immediately said Lufthansa, but I haven’t had a bad experience, with a great business class seat and amazing service. Maybe I was lucky, because I don’t fly Lufthansa that often and prefer KLM

I've flown with Lufthansa from Los Angeles to Frankfurt in 2003, which was also my first time in a 747, and since then I've flown with Lufthansa 747 to and from Shanghai from Frankfurt and between Gothenburg and Krakow with layover in Munich, all these flights have been between 2003 and 2015 and a mix between long haul and short. In my experience, Lufthansa is an amazing airline to fly with! Cabin crew has always been amazing, food has been good, excellent service even on a 1-2 hour long flight (they offered sandwiches and yoghurt, coffee, tea or cold beverage even on those short flights, all included in your fare!)

When I flew to China, I was flying alone and the crew were just so sweet, asking me if I needed something and so on, and this was during the Swine Flu times in 2009.

The damn thing about it all? All my flights have been in Economy!

I'd never set foot on an American airline at this point, they're too focused on making profit over offering a safe service to their customers. American planes are poorly maintained with too many corners cut! It wasn't Lufthansa that dropped a wheel at take off some weeks ago, it wasn't Lufthansa that had a side panel blow out mid flight, it was two American based airlines that did! I saw the United flight with the lost wheel land at LAX that day after being diverted (I watch flight spotting lives on YouTube) and while the pilots and ground crew handled the situation exceptionally well and landed safely, the incident just shouldn't have happened to begin with! You don't hear much or any issues like this with European based airlines, but hear about incidents on a semi regular basis with American based airlines.

I'd choose a slightly dated cabin on a well maintained aircraft any day of the week, over some modern cabin in an aircraft held together with ducttape to keep costs down!

Considering the overall experience from aesthetics, customer service, to seats, hardware, etc, it's basically a matter of whether you prefer horse shit or dog shit.

I’d rather fly in a pack of gum with wings than fly on United ever again.

For the argument your making it’s like comparing apples to oranges. Do the same price point and see were it lands you.❤

When flying economy I prefer Lufthansa over United.

Earlier this month i flew Lufthansa on a 11h flight from Germany to tge US and back with United (both in economy), and I'd say the Lufthansa flight was a bit more comfortable. The seat gave me less backpain, i had a bit more leg room and the food was nicer, service pretty much equally friendly. United had better selection on the in flight entertainment though. Overall i think next time I'll choose based on price and flight schedule, the companies were pretty equally tbh

I can assure you, having once flown by United from MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA to SAN FRANCISCO VIA LOS ANGELES AND THEN BACK TO MELBOURNE VROM SAN FRAN TO MELBOURNE VIA LAX, I SWORE I WOULD NEVER FLY WITH UNITED EVER AGAiN. The Outward bound journey via LAX to SAN FRAN too 19 hours plus. There was BUT ONE MEAL AT 10 AM SOON AFTER DEPARTING MELBOURNE; THEN NOTHING! When I asked what time dinner was being served, I was advised that dinner would not be served, and I should order a snack from the cart when it came past my seat. That cart came past my seat 14 hours after departure, and they only had PRINGLES which cost me around $2.50 US but they could not take cash. They wanted a CREDIT CARD! The return trip was the same. One Meal soon after departure. At least I had the foresight to buy food to take on board with me for the return flight. YOU CAN SHOVE UNITED UP YOUR COLLECTIVE ARSEHOLES!
