The “problem” here is that Lufthansa prioritizes Skandinavia/Northern Europe when it comes to cheap fares. You can easily find those fares when flying out of ARN/OSL/BGO/SVG/CPH etc. I know people from Germany that booked flights from Oslo and Stockholm because of the cheap fares and even with flights to OSL/ARN and one night in a hotel they were cheaper than booking a flight from Frankfurt or Munich…

On my LH flight from PRG to NYC, Premium Economy is additional 2× the price of my air fare on the way there and additional 3× on the way back.

The best premium economy in LH group is Swiss, they are using lighter version of biz shell seat so no worries about smb-elses reclining + almost same prices as in Lufthansa

Have you done Finnair PE yet? I flew them to Chicago and it was simply amazing, much better seats than what is shown here, plus gourmet food, amenities and an exclusive very spacious and clean bathroom with a window. And quite affordable.

The last time I flew Lufthansa to Europe from Asia, the premium economy was just $20 more expensive than economy class. I wouldn't fly on the airline's economy (cause it is really not good), but I think if the premium economy is that cheap, it is always worth a go

I once checked flights for our yearly home trip between Europe and East Asia and for the return leg Lufthansa/Swiss's premium economy was $70 CHEAPER than normal economy that comes with only one piece of luggage, which is still cheaper than the other 4 carriers doing that connecting route

For someone who is using Lufthansa only because they are the only carrier how offers connected international flights from HAJ I can confirm, it is the best value for money option you can get. We just paid just 120 euros more as for the economy seats for Hannover-Frankfurt-Delhi and the same route back. 60 Euros for an upgrade on a 9 hour flight is ridiculously cheap. The same for other flights as well in the past.

In general the service and space is good enough to arrive relaxed and ready to start your holiday.

Plus you are allowed to check in two 23 kilo bags instead of one. Not necessary but handy if you want to transport extra stuff or don’t want to worry about buying stuff on your trip.

Most of LH flight attendants are rude with plenty of attitude, not pretty and old. Inedible food in business(was served frozen noodles literally couldn’t pull them apart the whole chunk came up) and the options ran out after 1 row (I was in the third line from the front). Economy bags came out before business, their overall service is just unacceptable for the price. I don’t even wanna imagine what kind of hell economy is like if their business service is that sloppy. Also it’s super irritating when you book the route with SWISS or ANA (the better partners) and LH swaps in instead.

LH Premium Eco might be fine for tall people. But the seats can not be brought into a real sleeping position. You also have to stand up when your neighbour wants to pass. If you want a relaxant overnight flight, you need to book business class.

The prices are expensive anywhere in the civilized world. Like flights between US and EU. I just priced economy and premium economy and the premium economy was almost 3x more. (And business was 2.5 times premium economy.)

flew lufthansa economy from FCO to ORD, no amount of luxury could have gotten me through that. my internal clock was for 2 weeks 😭

Is it truly great value for money though or is it just great value for money relative to standard Lufthansa economy? As far as my experiences with Lufthansa have gone, the onboard product can be hit and miss. They’re certainly not the worst but they are nowhere near the best either.
