About Lufthansa (from Wikipedia):
Deutsche Lufthansa AG, commonly shortened to Lufthansa, serves as the flag carrier of Germany. When combined with its subsidiaries, it stands as the second-largest airline in Europe in terms of passengers carried, after the ultra low-cost carrier Ryanair, largest in Europe and fourth largest in the world by revenue. Lufthansa is also one of the five founding members of Star Alliance, which is the world's largest airline alliance, formed in 1997.

Besides its own services, and owning subsidiary passenger airlines Austrian Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines, Brussels Airlines, and Eurowings (referred to in English by Lufthansa as its Passenger Airline Group), Deutsche Lufthansa AG owns several aviation-related companies, such as Lufthansa Technik and LSG Sky Chefs, as part of the Lufthansa Group. In total, the group has over 700 aircraft, making it one of the largest airline fleets in the world

About Airbus A330 (from Wikipedia):
The Airbus A330 is a wide-body aircraft developed and produced by Airbus. Airbus conceived several derivatives of the A300, its first airliner from the mid-1970s. Then the company began development on the A330 twinjet in parallel with the A340 quadjet and launched both designs with their first orders in June 1987. The A330-300, the first variant, took its maiden flight in November 1992 and entered service with Air Inter in January 1994. The slightly shorter A330-200 variant followed in 1998.

The A330 shares its airframe with the early A340 variants, but having two main landing gear legs instead of three, lower weights, and slightly different lengths. Both airliners have fly-by-wire controls as well as a similar glass cockpit to increase the commonality. The A330 was Airbus's first airliner to offer a choice of three engines: the General Electric CF6, Pratt & Whitney PW4000, or the Rolls-Royce Trent 700.

The problem with LH crews is the inconsistency: Depending on the purser in charge, they will go out of their ways to provide a great experience for passengers, while other pursers kinda tell them to provide only the bare minimum.

Usually, however, LH crews are always trying their best to make the most out of what their company lets them.

I can smell a Kenya Airways review in the distance. Can’t wait for my home airline to FINALLY feature on this channel 🎉🎉

Lufthansa Premium Economy was my first ever Y+ experience. Didnt try it again for half a decade because I just couldnt see the value over Economy, was very pleasantly surprised when I tried it on Cathay.

Thanks for the video! I had a 9hr flight to Vancouver with LH from Munich in Eco and a premium eco flight back. They surprised me positively on both flights. Improved a lot since the pandemic. The hot towel surprised me a lot and the crew was great. We would also get drinks for the long flights and a bottle of water in economy. Dishes were yummy and we had even two meals on the flight (I think this happens on flights that are 9 hrs or longer).
All in all maybe some way to go but on the right track IMO!

Flew from YVR to FRA this last July on a Lufthansa 747-400 in Premium Economy. There we had one dedicated lavatory and galley located between Premium Economy and Business towards the front. The separation from plain Economy was a fixed bulkhead and curtains across the aisles. The seating was 2-4-2, though it was actually more like 2-2|2-2 with a double wide armrest in the middle. I would deduct some points for the awkward placement of the seat bracing that makes it difficult to impossible to store any carry-on under the seat in front of you, or to stretch your legs out comfortably under the seat in front of you.

Just did the A350 premium economy from Munich to Delhi in the bulkhead aisle seat on the right side. The recline was great, but as someone who is 5’8, I felt weirdly cramped due to the wall ahead instead of being able to slide under the seat in front of me. I was genuinely uncomfortable throughout trying to find a comfortable position.

I just booked a Premium Economy flight on Lufthansa for May/June of 2024, from Saint Louis to Frankfurt. It was not just a couple hundred dollars/euros to upgrade from economy. It was roughly $500 EACH WAY to upgrade to Premium Economy. Also, the upcharge to pick your seat is a little ridiculous.

I flew LH Premium Economy last May-June. We did have a wall divider between our section and Ecomomy on both flights-Poland-US-Poland. It was double the price of Economy for me. But it was worth it because I was much more comfortable physically. I am 68 years old now and appreciate being more physically comfortable. I don’t know if I can go back to Economy. Yes, I agree, the orange mint juice at the beginning of the flight is really tasty. I normally have good service on the plane. Some better than others.

You always seem to fall victim of what I call the “Lufthansa Effect”, which is that the crews treat non-German speaking pax WILDLY differently in comparison to the German-speaking ones. Probably a language barrier, I feel the LH Effect too when flying IB or TK.

Although I’m not a native speaker, I live in Germany and I speak the language fluently. I’ve had the chance of running tests for the LH Effect multiple times. If I address a crew member in English, all I can get is “Chicken or pasta”. If I address a crew member in German, the crews tend to be so much more engaging and talkative and even funny! The difference in treatment is mind boggling.

I just flew Lufthansa Premium Economy last week. I had a flight between Dublin and FRA and then FRA to Riyadh. I had never flown Lufthansa before despite having a friend of 30+ years that works cabin crew for them. I was not impressed by Lufthansa. It was mediocre at best, but for me the plus was my flight crew on each flight were quite joyous and accommodating. We'll see next month when I return to Dublin if I sing the same song. BTW the pumpkin curry meal was also served on my flight. Looked like a plate of sick but really was very tasty.

This fits my experiences with LH. I tend to fly internationally from ORD, which means if going to Europe, you're likely on LH or UA to MUC or FRA. A few years ago the calculus changed and I've preferred flying UA to LH in all classes, Polaris to basic based on service, entertainment options, and customer service if something goes wrong for connections.

The final straw for me was a MUC-ORD on a new a350 without ac vents--the cabin crew kept the cabin in the high 70s the entire flight and refused to lower it even after multiple people complained--drenched in sweat and stuffy is no way to arrive after a 9-10 hour flight.

it's very sad they have not improved their service over the years. we never had a good experience with Lufthansa unless it's domestic. my hubby would prefer to walk on water than using Lufthansa for long haul ever again.

Took this PE from buenos aires to francfort and it was okay (since i got upgraded because they attributed my selected seat that i paid for to someone else) more leg room but also cold staff and ok meal (I always eat before at the airport to not go hungry). Love your videos, I’ve only been watching you since not even a month, keep on the good work !

10:24 I’ve had that problem in Premium Economy when I flew British Airways, but their recline is awesome.

I am finally flying on the LH A380 next year (LAX-MUC) and have Premium booked on my return trip. I am curious to try it. But the bathroom issue is one of the things I really dislike about Premium, because I am not good at maneuvering around hundreds of sleeping beauties (or not). In economy I can at lease choose a seat closer to the lavatory.

Lufthansa, everyone’s favourite European Airline. I would like to see how LOT Polish Airlines compares to Lufthansa in Business or Premium Economy if that is possible.
