ENT Manifestations of Migraine 37: Hoarseness Associated with Migraine

This woman has a history of migraine whose pain is associated with hoarseness which starts one hour prior to onset of pain and continues up to a day following resolution of pain. There has no easily detectable changes in the larynx on exam including during videostroboscopy. The cause of her hoarseness is uncertain. They are preceded themselves by up to a day of increased secretions and post nasal drip which suggests it may be a consequence of increased parasympathetic outflow.
