I have not seen my hearing care professional in over a year and a half. Last time I went in she asked me what I was doing there. I should of ran when I called to see if my hearing aid was in and she said you never told me which one to order when we had picked everything out a few weeks before. She definitely doesn’t follow best care practices and I will be looking for one that is Dr Cliff approved.

Thanks. I hope I can find a satisfactory provider in the Indianapolis metro area. I had to consult with the Cost Co clinic due to the device(s) I inherited. Yes, previously owned was purchased at Cost Co. When it is time to replace, I will go to an appropriate auditory specialist. The technician at Cost Co was not helpful when I asked about proper care of my device.

How long can one expect a pair of HAs to last roughly? I have one pair of Phonak Paradise (main pair) and one pair of custom molded IIC Starkey's (use rarely).

Hey Dr cliff. I just got my new oticon s2 hearing aid replacement and there is an improvement except the sound just goes dead in one of them and comes back on after about 10 min. Have you heard of this before.

Great information, I have a question. Do receiver wires and the bit that goes inside your ear canal deteriorate over time? I have had my RIC aids nearly 4 years and I’m sure the right one doesn’t sound as good as it used to. What could I ask my audiologist to check. Thanks

Hi Dr. Cliff! I am a great fan of your videos, they are really really informative. I live in Asia and I am a new user of Phonak P-90 hearing aids having moderate to severe loss. I am not sure whether I am hearing my best or not but yes definitely better than without HAs.
Should I be expecting distorted sounds while talking on phone almost everytime?! I highlighted this issue to my audiologist but he is also clueless. I tried few things which he asked me to do but nothing seems to be working. Could it be a manufacturing defect? Because of this issue I cannot take my calls with HAs and it’s really depressing.

Very useful and informative, though if I had to send my paradise in for a battery failure just recently so I can't use it unfortunately. Also does anyone know how long that would take?
