The issue with plasma and butane is they burn far to hot to light anything but a cigarette. You don't light a tobacco pipe or cigar with anything except a yellow flame because you want to roast the tobacco not char or scorch it as it changes the flavor and the smoke.

I EDC a lighter, butane makes sense as the traditional zippos dry out quickly which is not a problem if you smoke, but when you only need a lighter once a month, it never works when you need it.
