7:00 That's a plasma lighter. The electricity is super heating the air between the contacts. Makes it more capable in high wind. Essentially it's creating high voltage arcs which then super heat the air around them creating plasma.

I have a few, the double torch for cigars, but only can light 3 before it has to be refilled. The arc lighter is cool, my wife uses the angled butane flame insert

Little tip, that hole in the felt can be used to store a spare flint, you can just lift the felt to fill if you do.

I've got the dual flame insert for my Zippo. Also with the petrol inserts you need to rearrange how the wick runs through it. The Zippo Ive got I have had since the 1990s.

I also have all the Zippo inserts apart from the Pipe (butane and petrol), Light and Multi-Tool inserts. Anyway, good video, with good narration and camera work!
TipZ: Always only ever use Ultra-Refined Butane like _Newport Zero_ in torch (laser-needle) flame lighters. If you use normal butane, after a couple of refills the nozzle of the lighter gets clogged up with impurities and the lighter refuses to ignite and that's the reason why. So always use the Refined Butane only!

Vector butane is far superior and will work better for the Zippo insert.

You lucky man. I'm in Argentina and as of 2024 we cannot get all those here, only the arc. I'm desperate for the butane. Amazon does not ship anything from Zippo here and the official warranty/store here does not sell anything but the arc insert. Anyone knows where I could get the single or double butane that can be shipped here? :(

BTW, the arc is awesome but the charge lasts about 40 clicks of 3 secs each. Battery is good for about 200 charges. Only useful for lightning commercial cigarettes/sporadic use. It's NOT a flame, it's an electrical arc that burns at VERY high temperatures. You need to make the cigarette literally touch the arc to light it. It's kind of self cleaning on the account the arc burns EVERYTHING in it's path. Tobacco hand assembled or weed joints are a waste with the arc because you need a lot of relighting's and the charge drains out fast. Not useful at all for pipes. I'd choose the butane, the double butane (not here in the video) or the classical Zippo for intensive use.

I didn't know you could buy just the inserts. I thought I was cool having a pipe lighter since I was in like 7th grade and then my you know Chrome lighter with the brass insert😂
