Best Abstract Algebra Books for Beginners

In this video I go over the four best books for beginners trying to learn abstract algebra. I have over 25 abstract algebra books and I think these are the best four for people trying to learn. There are other good books and of course opinions vary, but these are four solid choices for anyone wanting to start with this beautiful subject.

Contemporary Abstract Algebra by Joseph P. Gallian

Dan Saracino was a professor at my undergrad. I didn't take algebra with him, but we did use this book and it was great to just walk into his office when I had questions.

I like the Fraleigh, I've tried many books, coming from an eng background and many were hard to understand. This one worked best for me.

Well, this book is more like a quick start guide. But it gave me a lot of pleasure:
Rings, Fields, and Vector Spaces: An Introduction to Abstract Algebra via Geometric Constructibility by B.A.Sethuraman.

Visual Group Theory, by. Nathan Carter; Elements of Algebra, by John Stilwell; Algebra, by Michael Artin; Contemporary Abstract Algebra, by Gallian are my picks for beginners.

You should do a review Hoffman and Kunze Linear Algebra book I heard that it is now considered a "graduate" book but when it first came out, it was used by freshman at MIT!

I'm going through Hungerford's book on introductory abstract algebra and it's fantastic. Attempting to prove all the theorems, if I get hung up the text's proofs are very easy to follow.

A really good book for math enthusiasts on groups and a bit on fields is Groups and Fields by Jeremy D. Copeland by the Art of Proeblem Solving. It teaches through problems and is amazing but is not published yet so can only be bought with the group theory course by Aops for a couple hundred bucks
