On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

If you prefer more up close and personal dogfights consider the IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battle series and experience intense WWII aerial combat over famous battlefields such as Stalingrad, Moscow, Rhineland and Normandy. Fight in and against Russian, American, German, British warbirds such as the P-51 Mustang, P-47 Thunderbolt, Bf-109, FW-190, Spitfire, Hurricane and rugged IL-2 Sturmovik attack plane. You can also fly legendary SPADS, Fokkers and Camels in WWI dogfights over the trenches of WWI and discover your inner Red Baron! And all of this can be experienced in jaw dropping virtual reality!

If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. Hey GS might I make a suggestion? Instead of the occasional tac-view debrief, is there anyway we could get a sort of in-flight “directors commentary” debrief with you? I’ve been watching your videos for awhile now and can say I’m pretty well versed with the terminology but I still struggle to keep up with your situational awareness inside the cockpit. Such as how you’re able to tell when a bandit has gone hot vs cold? Essentially I’m suggesting a video breakdown, inside the cockpit, during your fight, where you explain what your looking at and what it tells you.

With regard to the Viper "Doing Work", I just LOVE how efficiency never goes out of style. John Boyd's obsession with energy retention under high G loading just wrecks everything else - well - except for the Raptor. And as far as that goes, all the great work Hillaker did on the F-16XL lives on in the Raptor. There's a NASA .PDF out there on the web of 400+ pages regarding all the great aerodynamic science learned from the XL that went straight into the Raptor.

The F-16 is a beautiful aircraft and still is today (first saw it back in the early 80's), at the time I was like WOW, I want to fly that thing.
It would be amazing if DCS could do the F-16 XL (delta wing, Supercruise, 25+ stores hardpoints, high A0A (70+ degree?) etc etc.
But it was just too expensive so the Eagle won out.
Still, one can dream.
