Ford made a mistake removing this 1 option! Today we are going over all the updates, key changes, and more for the 2025 Ford F-150. Key changes include new color options Marsh Gray and Space White. Deleted colors include avalanche gray and darkened bronze. Bluecruise packages prices have slightly dropped, and much more. But the huge change that Ford Motor Company has made is removing Security Code Keyless Entry. It is still a DOI (dealer installed option) but it will no longer be standard. If you are interested in the Security Code Keyless Entry as a DOI, it is $455 to add.
For the STX there is a new equipment group called the 200B. For the XLT there is a new 300A equipment group. For the Lariat it now starts with a 500A equipment group. Another change for the Lariat is the active X material seats which are standard.

Ford needs to hear us now. We want the keypad factory installed from day 1. That is absolutely wild to get rid of it but then do some wacky dealer install nonsense.

No leather seats in a Lariat🫨 FORD has lost their damn minds!

I bought my first F-150 in 2022 and it happened to come with the keypad and it has turned into one of my favorite features about the truck

Us: trucks are too expensive
Ford: here’s a watered down version of last years trucks for the same price as last years with more bells and whistles

Yep, the key pad is a major feature for us choosing ford over another manufacturer. They’ve taken it away on the Bronco, and now the F150. Very disappointed.

The key pad on the door is literally the reason I've stayed with Ford vehicles . I've often wondered why other car companies haven't done something similar. This affects used car sales as well when these cars go for sale again.

What I hate that Ford does is bundle options to the point it costs $3, 000 extra to add a $300 option.

Writing this that hopefully someone from Ford will see it. I have owned Gmc/Chevys most of my life. I have owned one Dodge and quickly learned it is not for me. I bought a 2021 F150 back in 2022 and fell in love with it. I brag to others about how smart Ford was when designing some of the features. My number 1 favorite thing that I can get that no other truck has is the keypad entry. I'm in and out of stores 5-10 times a day with my business and I leave my truck with wallet and keys in it while is running. Just a quick tap of the buttons and I'm in and out. If I had to take my phone with me it will disconnect from bluetooth and over all be 30 seconds longer to open an app wait for it to connect and unlock. I have had a buddy who just got a 2500HD Gmc and it is starting to look appealing after hearing this news. If you want to work on something Ford I got a list for you. This is how you could win/keep customers:

1) Make headlights/taillights that last more than 100, 000 miles. (led). If we do have to replace them don't make it cost $3000 to replace a damn headlight!!! as quoted by my local Ford dealership. I replaced my tail light this week and it cost $1200 for the part alone. I am not going to replace the headlight that has part of the LED out. I hate it but now the world gets to see that it isn't made to last. Oh and by the way there are about 3 other trucks I see daily with the same issue. That is ridiculous!

2) Fix the cover that goes on the tailgate step! I haul 5 gallon buckets of paint every day and slide them off the tailgate. When doing so it rips the cover off and I have to clip it back on. It recently flew off and now just looks bad/cheap. When I brag about the good things like the keypad/storage with the center console I also tell people about the cheaply made tailgate step cover.

3) Figure out the bluetooth kinks. There are times when my phone and Apple play just don't get along and I have to pull over and restart my truck to get it to connect properly. A lot seems to do with if my phone disconnects while the truck is still running (if I take my phone inside the store)

I have a list of good things and at the top is that keypad. I really hope Ford listens and brings this back. I'm waiting to see what 2026 has before I buy a new truck but where I was completely sold on the F150/f250s I will now be looking at GMC as an option if Ford keeps down this road.

Not buying these trucks is an option. Your money talks louder than any politician or angry comment.

I am currently on my fifth f150 I will not be buying another one, Ford has lost its way and me as a customer.

I have a 2015 f150 with the keypad and I love it it’s a bummer they are removing and paying more for it at the dealer.

I've had keyless entry on two+ decades of Ford's, Freestyle, Excursion, F-150, Escape, Bronco. It's become a well-loved Ford feature. Some have said it's no longer needed because of the Phone App. However, I see the unlock pad as an essential backup safety feature to avoid being locked out.
I also see the Ford Navigation feature Mitch said was discontinued the same way. There are times when, in remote areas, that Android Navigation cuts out. The Ford Nav app, that I pay $65 yearly for, is a great backup.

Security code is a MUST. I love the keypad. That is the best thing about ford. Your right. This is the stupidest thing to get rid of. I agree with you. This is wrong. I won’t buy one without the key pad. At least it is a dealer option.

I got a 2020 xlt and I love the keypad on the door.
Using it all the time.
Take this away, is definitely a step backwards.

I have had mostly good luck with the many Ford products that I have owned over the years and have been brand loyal. As ridiculous as it sounds I would not consider other brands no matter how nice because of the keyless entry keypad and wondered why they didn't offer it as well. I am in construction and also fish, hike, camp and boat and leave my keys and wallet locked in the truck so that I don't lose them. I also leave a spare key in each vehicle and use the keypad to access them when my keys are in the house. Like Jassman3536 stated "Taking the security code is a MAJOR MISTAKE!" Personally I believe that the Lariat is the sweet spot in the Ford pickup truck line and removing the leather seats is a mistake. Just my 2 cents.

All the trims are too expensive. Trucks are too expensive, regardless of brand. SUV's are too expensive, regardless of brand. Literally everything is too expensive. Customers are tired of being nickel and dimed to death. The average person can't even afford and entry level truck anymore, let alone a higher trim level one. All these companies, including Ford, are out to lunch.

The keypad is the best feature on my F150 and Explorer. The keypad has kept me in a ford. Without the keypad I will purchase a silverado rst as it is available in leather with the extended cab.

Ford wants to save money, get rid of BlueCruise!!! It is a very nice feature but I ain’t paying a monthly subscription for that!

The only reason I have driven Ford vehicles is for the keypad entry... you can lock your vehicle while gassing it up, lock it up at the airport, people can go to the truck at the motel and grab stuff with out getting the key, shopping at the mall you can walk on out and type in the code and get in and start the truck without finding your wife.

I love the code entry on my 14 I hope it becomes standard when I finally get a new one. Of course I have 180000 miles on my truck and have had 0! Problems can’t complain. And like you said if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. My truck ain’t broke!
