I'm just fascinated how this came to be. They were obviously trying to think of chaotic deities across mythology and fiction. Then, one of the writers brought up Bill Cipher? Not only did that writer have to know about Gravity Falls, they'd have to know a fair deal about Gravity Falls. And, the writers then had to convince all the other writers that this was a good enough gag to put into the episode. Many of those writers probably hadn't even watched the show.

Obviously the Bill cameo is amazing, but can we also appreciate the mythological figures that are present? We’ve got Anasi, the African spider god of trickery, Sun Wu Kong the Monkey King known for his mischief, Jesus, who ACTUALLY IN A WEIRD WAY IS LINKED TO LOKI, (I unfortunately don’t know the purple canine creature, sorry) and they ACTUALLY GAVE LOKI RED HAIR INSTEAD OF USING THE MARVEL COMICS VERSION. Mad respect, Simpsons.
