SEIZED Big Block Ford ~ WILL IT RUN After 40 Years?

preview_player
Показать описание
I purchased this disgusting wreck of a 1971 Lincoln Mark III for its 460 big block V8 engine. It turned out to be locked up and required a great deal of work to get running again. As is usually the case with 385 series Ford engines and myself, it ends in catastrophe.

"I brought your hole punch" - You proceed to give the Lincoln the John Wilkes Boothe treatment.... lmfao.... never change, Dalton

I respect that at the end you admit you f*cked up and should have listened to your gut and just pulled and rebuilt it first instead of running it. Takes a big man to admit when he is wrong and is super rare on youtube so thank you for being honest and just chock this up as a life lesson and move forward. There are other good 460s out there and you won't mess up the next one.

"If you have a mental disorder and are restoring a lincoln mark 3 for some reason..." 😂😂Best line yet.

Dalton I have to be honest. All I can focus on is the wipers working stupendously during this “will it fire” segment

I feel the pain when Dalton noticed that the engine was junk too.

Would still love to see you do a total rebuild and give that Torino the 460 it deserves even if you gotta work for it

Crazed Dalton with the Sawzall is how we all feel 8 hours into the "quick 2 hour job"

There is a bright side to this Dalton. It's not very often you get to hear an engine die on yt. I may or may not have heard several over my years on this planet, but that's the first V8 I've heard go jiggy jiggy clunk.

$950 for a good wiper motor is not a bad deal in today's economy. Great video, thanks! Cheers! 😎👍🏎🏁🏁

Those heads, with their rockers and pushrods will go straight on a truck 460. You’ll gain compression too, since D0VE heads have 75cc chambers, compared to the 95cc ones on later smog heads. You’ll take a 73+ 460 up to around 9.3:1 compression from the original 8:1. So it is definitely worth rebuilding those heads.

I’m glad Angus sent you a parts list, that’s what I’ve been thinking the whole time so far.

Not to make you feel bad or anything but I would have loved a video of you yanking, rebuilding, and putting the engine in the Torino just as much or more as this video. All you had to do is say, "I don't want to mess this one up so we are going to pull it, strip it and rebuild it so we KNOW it runs." and we would watch it.

'Tragedy Bingo' is fantastic. I think the whole shop is gonna play that whenever we gotta tear apart a vehicle to see what's wrong 👍🏼
