The origin , pathway and branches of the sciatic nerve.
The sciatic nerve arises from sacral plexus in the pelvis and consists of two parts—tibial part and common peroneal part.
The tibial part is formed by the ventral divisions of anterior primary rami of L4, L5; S1, S2, S3.
The common presoneal part is formed by the dorsal divisions of anterior primary rami of L4, L5; S1, S2.
The two parts are usually enclosed in a common sheath of the connective tissue. At the beginning the sciatic nerve is about 1.5 to 2 cm wide beeing the thickes nerve in the body.

The only thing more impressive than the content of this channel is the ambidextrousness of its creator.

I have slight pain in the left hip, which I got by sitting for too long when driving... Also numbness in left foot. Big toe and up to my mid calf, laterally. Why is it happening, and what muscles should be released or strenghtened to relieve this issue? Thanks
