So true. Dating should be “the step before marriage” and should ensure that one gets to know his partner better before marrying her/him. Now it’s more of a hobby, a pastime, a joke.

I just do not understand why "dating" includes sex. Sex is a very intimate, very private, act. I am baffled by the numbers of sexual partners people have these days! And I include men in my statement. I have teenage relatives who, by the age of 16, have "partners"!!! That is insane. Very few high-school sweethearts actually marry, and many who do end up divorcing not long after marrying. I was married for over 30 years. My husband and I waited until we were married to have sex. Two years after he died, I began to dip my toes into the dating pool. The men always demanded that we sleep together on the second date!! I refused. I'd never hear from them after that. They got angry because they had paid for my dinner both dates, so it was a given that it was time for their reward. I'd offer to pay for our dinners on the second date, and they all insisted that they would pay. I had no idea that sex was mandatory on the second date! I gave up dating. I'm happy living on my own. I have family and friends who are all loving people and they make sure that I am not lonely. I will one day be judged by God and I wouldn't want to have to face Him and try to explain why I had so many sex partners. Mandatory sex on a second date? No. How about we, at the very least, get to know each other well before we immerse ourselves into the sexual pool? Oh.. and maybe we are in love first?
