The biggest benefit is that I'm not on my phone.

I’m Finnish and have been rocking the sauna since I was a kid, and I’m telling you if you’re not doing it regularly, you’re missing out!
🤘🏻😎

Aaaah, this explains why I always hit this moment in my yoga lessons somewhere halfway through the hour where my inner dialogue starts to say things like 'I don't like this anymore, I don't want to continue doing this, this pose is to hard, I can't take it anymore, I want to make it stop!' I have been wondering about that, because when I push through, which I always do, I feel so much better and satisfied afterwards! 🙏🏽

The sauna is Finland's revereed national treasure, considered Unesco cultural heritage
It has been used for centuries by the Finnish people to calm the spirit and at the same time pick you up if feeling depressed as well as cleanse your skin very thoroughly by sweating
One fun fact is that the Finnish military would regularly sauna bathe while at the WW2 front against Soviet Union, it is believed that this habit boosted troops morale to get the upper hand on the Soviets

Saunas have been HUGE for my physical and mental health.

I wish the US had more community saunas/baths like Korea and Japan

I was in the dry sauna for a 1/2 hour yesterday. I think the temp was around 180. I was drinking water. The only reason I stayed in so long is the wet sauna has been down 4 days now at LA Fitness Orlando. The indoor pool heater has been out over a month! I love it because of the temperature change. Before Rhonda lecturing on it I couldn't make the transition between hot and cold without a shock...now I dig it.

Hot bath with Epsom salts , " magnesium sulfide" It will relax you and soften your skin. I had hard cracking heels for years till I did this. Took 5-6 soaks to
really soften the heels.

Tip for you guys, my vo2 max is 52 but when I jump straight in the sauna directly after training in the gym it rises to 54 without me doing anything at all and stays there for a couple of hours. To repeat, that's me not doing any extra excersise just adding it on to the end of your gym session. You got this❤

I cannot stand dry saunas, but the real ones with steam are awesome. So great when you get a terrible cold in the Winter.

Sauna is a great distraction from food, tv, computer and phone. Definitely calming and a high when done.

As a Finn these are always funny. You really can't see all these effects in real life and on real people. We sit in hot sauna all the time, and we are miserable, have a lot of heart disease, etc.

If you make more receptors, you'll need more stimulation to fill them. Basics of upregulation.
