You are doing a video on why all Chinese cars are bad with zero footage from actual testing in a Chinese car and reference only the insane Hongqi, without discussing cars like Nio EL7, Xpeng G9, Zeekr 001, etc… Sorry, but nog very convincing this way.

Imagine a chinese guy testing a Dacia and saying "don't buy European cars, they suck". (disclaimer: i don't have any problem with Dacia, it has good value for price)

The title isn't good, Kris. You can point out relative strengths and weaknesses but I don't think Chinese cars are bad. They're very competitive now in many aspects. But, tbh, with all of the collaborations going on in many industries, including automotive, it's hard to tell what's what now. Audi and VW are going to use Chinese carmakers platforms and software and Chinese are expanding aspects of their businesses to Europe and the USA as well as other parts of Asia.

What a awful tittle and not well prepared video. Kris take your time doing things properly. This footage was really terrible at the the level of the poor performance odlf some systems on those cars you mention. Missinformation, if you need getting recover from your sickness don't force yourself uploading anything not properly informing. Your reputation will be impacted.

I've tried only one Chinese car, and that's Xpeng g9. It's awesome in every way possible. Only thing I haven't tested is the climate control in cold weather. At least one Chinese car has been able to " check every box"

looks like once you open the door the whole car falls apart, no thank you.

Hello Kris, I always like your videos. As a car enthusiast in China, I would like to share some of my opinions.

In the minds of most true Chinese car enthusiasts, Hongqi is considered a brand that belongs to the past and does not represent the current state of the Chinese automotive industry. Its manufacturer, FAW, is an incompetent and inefficient bureaucratic state-owned enterprise that wastes taxpayers' money by producing mediocre cars.

Hongqi has a glorious brand image in China, representing a history of self-reliance in automobile manufacturing. Government officials and some people who have strong nationalist sentiments likes to show their support for Chinese "national enterprises" by driving Hongqi(Red Flag) cars, proudly proclaiming themselves as patriots.

Today, the real representatives of the Chinese automotive industry are private enterprises such as Geely, Great Wall Motors, NIO, and BYD (although I believe BYD lacks aesthetic standards and neglects handling capabilities, infotainment systems, and autonomous driving technology). Additionally, state-owned companies like SAIC Motor and GAC Motor produce far superior vehicles compared to FAW.

Hey Kris, would you call the Volvo EX30 a Chinese car or a Volvo built in China?

My Zaptec Pro blew a fuse after the neighbourhood lost power and it wasn't even charging. It required an electrician to attend and fix it. I am not impressed.

Uhh Volvo is a Chinese car. Chinese owned and Chinese built.

I am still unable to decide whether he plainly hates Chinese manufacturers or just can’t appreciate anything different from what he is familiar with. He talks as if slowing down a bit on curves is somehow bad. SMH!

Cars? Why take such a small segment of the production issues across all Chinese products? I'd imagine there's a larger factor at play as Chinese goods are world renowned for being extraordinarily low quality - not just the cars but definitely those too.

Also Kris: "This Chinese car is my daily driver"

So many people are making this mistake - you cannot present audio quality by such youtube recording. Both your microphone and speakers/headphones while watching are the bottleneck here.

You can tell Chinese really get a hard on for the fancy screens and futuristic lines. China really likes this futuristic fancy style. Doesn’t mean it’s better or more reliable though. A lot of their buildings and infrastructure are built with that style as well. Sometimes it’s a bit overdone like they are trying to compensate for something.

ironically, Volvo is 100% owned by Geely. i.e. Volvo is Chinese.
Also, ID4 is produced in shanghai, technically also a Chinese car.

I am owning a BYD Dolphin since 2 months (5, 000 km) and I am very impressed what I got at that price point. Also the Chinese tires are quite good. The sound systems is ok. The infotainment system is very snappy but needs some improvements. I was driving Mazda cars since 2008. We still own a CX-8 Diesel for long distances. The Mazda still drives better than the BYD and has better quality in some details.

I own a Chinese car now, after owning a Tesla for many years. The Chinese car is lightyears ahead of the Tesla as far as quality goes. The doors are mechanical, and you will not be locked out of the car if the electric wires fail. I can actually do stuff with buttons instead of looking at a screen in the middle of the dashboard all the time; also a huge plus. The car starts right away when I push the start button. A Tesla having a bad day can display a black screen for five minutes before starting up. When the Chinese car installs an update, the update has been tested professionally first, so that it will not introduce new bugs. Also, sudden drive unit and battery failures in Chinese cars are rare, and both batteries and drive units are servicable. Plenty of Teslas have replaced the battery pack not just once, but twice on the warranty. Scrapyards in Norway are piling up with out-of-warranty Model S that are too expensive to repair because of battery or DU failures.

Crazy that the EHS-9 84kwh now costs from 450.000Dkr in Denmark! down from 800.000DKR! thats a reduction of 47.000€ over night! 🤯THe Chinese are crazy desperate to get market shares in Europe!
They argue that it is because of lower raw material prices, but come on! they must lose a lot of money on their cars!😵
