In China, the ultimate goal for a young man is to chauffeur your parents or your wife's parents in a luxury car.
That is why the rear section of sedans are elongated in China (for example with the BMW g38 instead of BMW g30)

Have you noticed how rare an affordable sports car is in AMERICA?

How are the Chinese going to carry their families in a 911? Most Chinese are not rich enough to have 2 cars. Usually it's only 1 car per family, so it has to do everything, it has to be practical.

the issue is parking. there is no parking space in most place including your apartment. and traffic so bad that the bus may be faster than driving a car to get to your place.

As a Chinese I can tell you this is definitely not why Chinese only buy four door cars and not sports cars. The real reason are first, imported sports cars are much more expensive in China compared to Europe and America due to insanely high taxation. Second, in China, you have to to put license plates on both back and the FRONT of the car. Imagine a Lamborghini with a license plate mounted on the front. It looks hideous on sports cars. Which is why a lot of rich Chinese people only choose to buy sports cars outside of China. Third, Chinese culture is heavily oriented around families, which made 4 door cars a better option for most people.

Makes much more sense to just rent one for track days. High displacement engines are taxed heavily in China for environmental protection.

Chinese and sports cars dont mix. Its not in their genetic code to be aggresive and confident drivers. Take a look at their driving demeanor

I’m calling bullshit on this claim. Maybe in China that could be the case, but that’s not the case with wealthy Chinese who migrate to the US. Look around SoCal, there’s tons of first-gen Chinese driving Porsches

So ignorant yet he tries to sound so confident. No, he is wrong. Porsche has heritage in China, they have been selling it in China since the beginning, not very many early on, but people know about them for a long long time now. The real reason is that they often drive others with them. It’s relatively rare to drive one person in a car and just commute alone with it. That’s looked as stupid in China. Also, depends on whom you are referring to, rich people we buy 911s as many as we want. Middle class they buy the more economical ones.
