He literally just spoke aloud everything we learnt in an entire month of high school IB physics. I'm not even joking right now.

Did anyone else come here from the golf ball video measuring terminal velocity with a grain?

Ah, pretty good accept for the last part: until your velocity equals the new force of the drag' - you have to be really careful (esp if you're watching this for a physics test!) - your velocity is *not* a force, it doesn't equal to the force of drag. The force of drag eventually balances with your weight/gravity and hence velocity is *steady* when that happens. NOT velocity = drag force.

I am so glad Michael is doing more than just editing and behind the scenes stuff with this channel! I loved this! He has such a great voice. Do more like this!!

This is an incredibly simplified explanation of something that most would find complex. Keep up the good work!

WOO Michael Aranda voice over. This is why I absolutely love the YouTube community. Because it's just that, an amazing community. I love watching videos of my favorite YouTubers and seeing other YouTubers I follow. It's like hanging out with a big group of my friends.

haha! maybe this video was for meant your 5th grade cousin! or someone who doesn't happen to know about terminal velocity.
at least it was only a minute and thirty eight seconds, right? hope you can find something more to your liking among the other 100 videos we have uploaded. best wishes!

that's why you can drop an ant out of a plane, without a parachute, and it will land fine. it's weight to surface area is so low that it's terminal velocity is much slower.

Thank you! I love people that watch this channel!

Michael's voice is nice to listen to. Calming.

Exactly, this video is so simplified it is almost painful to watch. And that wingsuit pilot as a background for an TYPICAL terminal velocity in a belly-to-earth position... Terminal velocity of an object falling in the atmosphere depends MOSTLY on the relation between 1) its weight and 2) the projected area of an object, its drag coefficient and the density of the fluid (air, i.e. altitude). It's in the formula. One can easily accelerate or decelerate +20mph simply by arching/dearching.

The work being done at places like Penn's GRASP lab is just amazing!

Thanks so much! I have a test coming up and this helped so much :)

Terminal Velocity is incorrect. The speed does not stop. The INCREASE in speed stops. Therefore it should be called Terminal Velocity Increase.

No, you are not the only person who started swinging your hand round really fast.
