Force due to air resistance increases with speed of the ball, the ball starts from zero velocity. You can imagine that the wind hitting your face if you were riding a motorcycle is far greater that the wind when you are walking for example.

force due to air resistance does not equal that of gravity immediately, it slowly increases with speed until it equals that of gravity. At this point there is no resultant force hence no acceleration and velocity is constant.

think of a parachutist. when they jump out the plane their weight force is more than air resistance. air resistance eventually eqauls the force of the weight because the parachutist is hitting more air particles per second - stopping him from going faster. when he opens the parachute, his surface area is more, meaning he hits loads more air particles- making him go at a slower speed. get it? 2just know that its reached as fast as it can go, its max speed. think of sports car design, small, light

Why doesn't the force due to air resistance equal that due to gravity immediately? Why does it take some time to equal the force down?

And I was thinking when the drag force becomes equal to the weight the ball or droplet stops I mean like suspended ball or droplet😂😂

I still don't understand. My original question stands. Why does the force due to air resistance equal that of gravity immediately? I also don't understand, how can an object keep moving is the resultant force is 0? There's no force acting on it, so shouldn't it be at rest?
