Almost every piece of information we are exposed to today is propaganda. Its intention is to plant an idea or to facilitate an action. Propaganda is the mechanism by which ideas and attitudes are disseminated on a mass scale.

In 1928 Edward Bernays published a book describing the principles of Propaganda. During world war one Bernays and others discovered that it was possible to not only rally public support for the war effort, but to also change people's attitudes towards the war. After the war ended they found that Propaganda could be just as useful in times of peace. Even though Bernay's book was written in the 1920s it is still very relevant today.

This is a more relevant discussion as to how Propangda can be used to influence ''The Masses". There could be a discussion as to how Politcal Parties can, and possibly must, use propaganda to influence to follow a certain message.

The people are easily manipulated. They continue to consume the latest product whether they want to or not. Your phone's slow performance can be fixed with a battery swap but phones are built such that they can't do that and most people support that ideology because it makes their phone look good.

A phone should be a utility not a fashion accessory. Sure it can look good but not at the cost of practicality, but the masses are brainwashed so it doesn't matter.
