I love this song so much. I know it'll probably take 100 years for us to get an official release of it, so in the meanwhile I'm consuming this snippet forever ig (and also the full live version).
I practiced some new editing tricks with this one, and honestly I'm very proud of the way it came out

The way the last shot moves from Penelope to Odysseus was a masterpiece

Your design of Penelope absolutely seems like the dignified queen, standing tall. She looks gorgeous!

0:15 The fact that Penelope looks at a storm (clearly caused by a god, likely Poseidon due to the nature of it) and thinks ‘for gods sake, Odysseus, what did you do now?’

I don't think this power couple gets enough appreciation. Like they're literally smart as fuck on their own but an avengers level threat if paired.

Odysseus: fighting literal poseidon
Penelope: trying to stall for him
Telemachus: being a disney princess
(I love this!)

Your design of Penelope?
That’s what good character design looks like.
First, she is conventionally pretty. You look at her and you get why the frat boys - I mean suitors- want her to be their trophy wife. (Plus the the fact they would be king of Ithaca)
Characters (esp female characters) don’t have to follow society’s standards of beauty. Too many times a female character is designed to be thin (no visible muscles) or any imperfections (scars) when it doesn’t match with the backstory of the character.
But in Penelope’s case, it works. She’s the daughter of nobility.
If you think that strength only comes in the form of muscles, she looks weak. Like a delicate little flower.

But it’s clear she’s more than a pretty face.
How she holds herself when she is thinking about the storm? That is a women with an analytical mind.
She is concerned by the situation (and unsure what to do) but she holds herself with confidence. She might not understand what is happening, but she just needs time to think about the situation and she will find the answer.
And she is able to figure out what the audience knows.
You don’t doubt how Penelope was able to keep the suitors at bay for 10 years, raise a child AND run the kingdom.
She is Odysseus’s equal. She doesn’t NEED him to lead Ithaca to prosperity. She just wants him hold because he brings her happiness.

Penelope is one of those characters that don’t get enough appreciation (and also get a lot of unwarranted slander). She is everything. She is smart, and calculated, and cunning. She was a sole queen in Ithaca for 20 whole years, first as essentially regent while her husband left for war, and then, when it started looking clear that the king wasn’t coming back, she kept holding the fort, in her son’s name (allegedly). She was powerful enough to hold that throne in her hands for 20 years, hold the kingdom functioning and prospering from said throne, resisting the many suitors trying to undermine her family’s claim (because what new king would allow the son of the old king to inherit him? No, if Penelope was to be married again for the claim to the throne, Telemachus would have been killed) for a decade. Every epithet relating to Odysseus’s cunning is just as fitting and potent for her, and I love that.

It's a neat detail to zoom in on the distant, rapidly approaching Odysseus as the suitors repeat their chorus. _"Time is fleeting, it's running out--time to be the man of the house"_ takes on a nifty double meaning with the implication that it's going through his head too.

Don't worry, the men on at the table are here to discuss about Telemachus' birthday

For all those curious it’s likely that Penelope is between the ages of 35-40 which if one thinks about it adds another layer to the whole time running out thing
Suitors wouldn’t be so eager to have Penelope if she couldn’t birth them an heir
They know that dynasties last longer

Man, I'm going to be an absolute mess when this song comes out. I'm in tears just listening to this snippet, and this art is absolutely perfect. The way Penelope carries herself, confident of herself and her husband, and the way the scene changes to Odysseus, to show that the "buying you time" is finally coming to an end

Holy cheese- the final shot, of Penelope walking past a window that zooms in to Odysseus (who's hair is like a mane lol) is so, so, SO GOOD LIKE. Woah, that is some amazing panelling. Your Penelope design just speaks to me <333 so beautiful

The design of Penelope.
The men waiting at the table.
The last panel with Odysseus.
And the backgrounds in general, it's so amazing!!
You're awesome!

I *love* that you included her loom.
Penelope told the suitors she would pick a husband when she finished Odysseus’ father’s burial shroud.
Every day she worked on the shroud. And every night she unraveled it. Making it impossible to finish.
He even says it himself. Odysseus chose Penelope because she was smart. Not just beautiful.

This is literally a masterpiece

The hope in her eyes, the realisation on 'unless'! I think saying I'm obsessed is an understatement. The way the suitors stand, clearly impatient.
Also she looks stunning

Another great animatic gigi:))

I love how you added Odysseus returning in the end there, and how Penelope pulls out the bow the suitors failed to string. You can see the emotions Penelope feels having to replace Odysseus. Overall amazing animatic, thank you for this masterpiece gigi! ❤❤

I love the detail of the loom. It's nice to see people using small details from the myth, in this case Penelope sewing a shroud and unthreading it
