Also I genuinely, honestly, no joke _love_ the visual of this grown-ass middle-aged woman dancing on the railing of her balcony like a Disney Princess at the thought that her husband might be coming home at last. I'm not crying you're crying.

I love this. The moment that I saw her I went "that is the face and body of a middle aged woman who has been under unbearable stress for twenty years" and then her expression of hope when she thinks her husband might be coming home. Just amazing. I also love how much dignity she has in public. I have no doubt she could be out there in rags and still treat the suitors with such utter contempt. That is a Spartan queen; beautiful, intelligent and powerful. Love it.

The calluses in her hands!!! The definition of her arms and her bulky frame!! Oh my GOD she's incredible. The way she looks years younger the moment she goes "unless" and realizes that Odysseus might be back!! the DISDAIN on her face. She's so expressive and human! God i love her. The difference between her in her room and out as a queen. Ody's lovestruck expression when he saw her-- SAME MAN.

I love the design of her face. There’s something so inherently solemn and statuesque about it. And when she smiles at the beginning, there’s this inherent CUNNING in her face that had me going, “EYUP, that’s Odysseus’ WIFE, alright!”

a detail that i love here is that _penelope_ knows how to use the bow. when she mimes shooting it, she has it oriented correctly, rather than flipping it around and miming the shot from the side that looks more like a functional bow. idk if it was intentional or not, but its a lovely sort of connection between her and odysseus either way. they both know each other so _well_

0:30 I don't think anyone is talking about this part. God, this is the first animatic I've seen that has Penelope smirking proudly at the stupid faces of her suitors for so many years. SHE IS HAPPY WITH HER ACTIONS, BECAUSE SHE IS DOING IT FOR ODI.

I love this, Penelope's hair and arms (which I am looking at SO respectfully, Hera would be proud), the way Penelope carries herself in front of the suitors vs how she acts by herself, Ody watching his wife with such longing, the set-up of the challenge, Odysseus' weird as hell bow that only he knows how to string- all of it. Glorious.

I love that you used a palintonos bow! Plus the rendition of how the axes are lined up, and how Penelope looks her age~! Not to mention how broken Odysseus looks and the flash to focus on his hands and the sins he feels covering them. It's all so perfect and I love your art!

I don't think people are giving enough credit to your Odysseus. He truly looks haggard and broken, he looks like a beggar instead of just another suitor. His long hair makes him stand out even more, and you do an amazing job at conveying his emotions and feelings with just a few scenes. Amazing work, can't wait to see more.

2. Displays her Spartan heritage.

3. Actually has the unstrung bow curve correctly.

Idk why, but this rendition of Penelope reminds me of depictions of Hera. Regal, poised, powerful and refined, without a shred of doubt crossing her confidence. Ody might have Athena at his back, but I could fully see Hera backing Penelope up for all 20 years she’s had to rule as Queen alone.

She's not just desperately holding the suitors off, shes playing with them!! They are clowns!!! They are not fiddles, she plays them like the cheap kazoos they are!!!

I love how shes portrayed here as equally cunning to Odysseus, they are a match made in heaven for each other and a match made in hell for their enemies lol

Now that’s how I expect a spartan princess to look, she carries herself with pride despite being so tired. And the cursed as hell now of Odysseus, shows why the suitors had so much trouble
