If you live in a humid climate and use wc that has honey, don't store them on their side. Your paint will ooze out everywhere. A lot of my palettes have to be stored horizontally instead of vertically. I actually just built in really close shelves in my bookcase.

Better than the swatch card Ive found that if you put down white gesso and watercolor ground on the outside of the pallet then seal it with clear gesso, or a fixative you prefer, you can have the swatches on the pallet rather than the paper that always seems to wander away.

I have a question. What to do if the watercolor melted from the heat? and became sticky. How can this be prevented?

Oof. If I stored M Graham or Sennilier (or even QOR) vertically, the watercolour would slide right out of the palette. You must live in a dry climate, lol.
