You can use food dye as watercolour too! The gel stuff works especially well.

Yeah, learned that 2007. Its great when you're just starting to build up your art supplies, but eventually you just go back to watercolor or can afford the marker color you were trying to make.

Keep in mind that it’s not light fast though, as in it will fade SUPER quick when exposed to light. It’s a cheap and fun way to paint, but don’t expect this to be able to replace watercolor paint.

I did this with watercolor Pencils,
First I took my pencil and sharpened it into a small container, next I separated the wood and only kept the graphite/lead, and lastly added water and mixed!
