With other people coming out saying they reviewed the game after 30 hours (or 60 on the high end) - this is why I love Noisy Pixel. They actually seem to love gaming, and will put in the extra effort to review something instead of just rushing through it.

I loved this game so much that I typed up a 2, 200 word essay review about it, but to condense that, I'll just post the opening and ending paragraphs here.

Final Fantasy XVI is one of the most divisive games in the franchise to date, but is also one of the absolute best as well. A game that on the surface looks like it has almost nothing in common with Final Fantasy of old due to its "M" rating, graphic violence, Game of Thrones influenced dark fantasy setting and Devil May Cry styled action combat, but as you advance deeper into the game, peeling these layers away, you reach the heart of Final Fantasy XVI which is one of the purest Final Fantasy experiences in over 2 decades that in many ways captures the soul of the SNES era of Final Fantasy (Especially IV and VI) and feels like a massive love letter to the series roots while adding its own modern and mature flair to it as well.

When all is said and done Final Fantasy XVI is truly an epic journey from start to finish in every sense of the word, excelling in every single possible element the game has to offer providing one of the best narratives I've ever experienced in a video game with an incredibly detailed and immersive world to learn about starring a rich cast of well written and realistic characters in no small part thanks to its incredible side quests and masterclass voice acting performances. All topped off with an enjoyable combat system and mind-blowing boss fights which is all only enhanced thanks to the truly next-gen visuals, sound and production values overall alongside a masterfully composed OST too. Some people say XVI isn't a true Final Fantasy and to that I will just say that Final Fantasy XVI reminded me what a mainline Final Fantasy at its best has always been about. A mind-blowing, generation defining experience that will stick with you for life.

This is how you review a game... You know the guy indeed put the time analyzing each elements of the game.. Positives and Negatives are laid down for the viewers to process themselves.. Concise, simple and straight to the point...

Regarding FF mode, you forgot that it actually switches up enemy formations.

Like gryphon being replaced by the chimera.

Ultimaniac mode is a lot of fun. Totally agreed. I think it reveals the quality of the design of combat and stages. I haven't heard other videos covering that.
The difficulty challenges the player to use abilities reactively to enemy setup and their moves. And through trial and error, I start to appreciate how the dungeons are set up in its sequence. Because it took me many attempts to clear just one stage, the game world actually feels larger and rewarding.

Man, this game looks so amazing. Benedikta is so cool. The swearing, sex, gore, new direction for the series - it's for us lifelong fans that are now, 30, 40, 50+ and I'm here for it.

Buying a PS5 and this game this weekend, can't wait.

Game looks great but is it really considered a JRPG? Like when i think of JRPG i think of something like Persona or older FF titles. I really don't see any of the RPG aspects in this game, If anything its more akin to something like Dark Souls, Except Souls has alot more RPG aspects to it. So far i really haven't seen much of any RPG aspects to XVI, So i don't really see how its even considered an action RPG, Idk why people arent just calling it an action/adventure game. It feels just cause it's a FF title people feel they have to label it a JRPG.

120 hours!! Now that's what i like to hear! That's how you play an FF title. Not rush through the story with all the difficulty set to easy like all these other reviewers. For any first timers in the comments, really immerse yourself in the story, the lore, the characters, actually dive into the world.

Really loved this game, the story and combat are just perfect. I even enjoy the side quest, yes they are bare and not rewarding, but they very informative. Every time I complete a side quest, I know more about Valisthea, which is something I really appreciate, because the main story just make me want to know more about this world

This is a very good review, pros and cons were well developed and they actually took the time to play through everything the game had to offer. Wish more reviewers actually did that.
