Sam Koets, 16, was diagnosed with severe autism and couldn’t talk or take care of himself. Last year, investigators say his dad, professor Timothy Koets, left his Grand Rapids, Michigan, home to teach a class while Sam was outside playing. His wife and 18-year-old sister were home at the time, but their day later turned horrific. “My daughter woke me up and said, ‘Sam’s in the pool!’ They insist his death was an accident. Timothy Koets was charged with involuntary manslaughter and pleaded not guilty. #InsideEdition

So the oldest daughter didn’t do anything when she seen this boy in the damn frozen The youngest had the most common sense to tell someone what was

They basically let a “2 year old” play outside alone

The fact that they called him “Freak” as a term of “endearment” says a lot

I’ve seen people mourn more passionately about losing a houseplant than these parents calming say, “I miss him”.

Why TF would you ever call your kid a freak, especially if he has special needs? And why didn't anyone get him out of the pool when they saw him? Poor Sam.

They don’t seem very sincere and upset about him. Just “I miss Saamm” like it’s a pet goldfish you flushed down the toilet 5 years ago.

Oh it gets worse too. The mom kept refilling the son’s prescription after his death and caught a charge for it.

You portrayed yourself as an uncaring father by calling him a “freak.” I wonder why the mother is not being charged. She should have looked for her son when she woke up.

“We would never leave Sam unattended” says the woman who just told the story of how she left Sam unattended

They literally called him freak.... the “mother” didn’t even shed a f*cking tear... they said “we miss him too” so emotionless

Calling your disabled son “freak” as a term of endearment? I’ve officially heard everything to prove this world is doomed.

If he asked his daughter “is mom still asleep?” That proves he knew she was asleep when he left.. murderers

3 people knew he was "playing" in ice cold water in the middle of winter and didn't pull him out🤔 😔 sad

The mom wasn’t even crying when she was describing how she found him. She definitely didn’t care about the kid. Even the thought of losing my daughter breaks my heart, can’t imagine how I would react if it actually happened.

I have an autistic older brother who can't speak and has a mental capacity of an 8 year old. My parents and I would never leave him unattended. We wouldn't even let him outside without us. My parents wouldn't even sleep until my brother is asleep, that's why my mother had black eyes for years until I was old enough to take care of my brother because she would always stay up at night to attend to my brother's needs.
I would never casually call my older brother a freak. They're lying and didn't really care for the boy.

Why didn't the oldest daughter get him out of the pool in the winter? She should be in just as much trouble. This family isn't right

Not gonna lie at the beginning it did not look good for the parents

There is absolutely no emotion here about losing their child. Referring to him as “Freak” just seems as a way to vent his frustration of having to raise him and to verbally abuse him.

As a mom of two kids on the spectrum, you wouldn’t refer to your child(ren) that way!!! You would NEVER CALL THEM “FREAK” because society already judges them. Poor little man. Heartbreaking!!!
