I feel the tbr thing so much. I'm also a mood reader. I love challenging myself and I have phases in which I constantly read followed by phases were I might read once a week. I can recommend doing buddy reads. It's so fun to discuss books and it's been really motivating me to make time for reading (I struggle with that even if I'm in the mood for reading). Another thing I did is installing Mindful scrolling as a Google chrome extension. You can choose specific sides and then whenever you try to access them you'll be asked if you really want to spend time there and then it names something from a list you created in the settings of the extension. That list if filled with things you enjoy doing instead of being on this sides like reading or spending time with a loved one. It's free and helped me a lot

this explains so much on how you're able to read so many books! It truly is about prioritising reading and it can be difficult to make the adjustment. I managed 100+ last year and fingers crossed I can do this year too!

The audiobook segment is true. Sometimes I am just in the mood for an audiobook and cannot hold a physical book and to be honest some genres are much better on audiobook. All my psychological thriller books are on audiobook because that is how I enjoy them.

Tip 11. Read multiple books. If you set a specific time for each book and choose different genres so you are a lot less likely to get them mixed up. My stance on audiobooks is, a) I love absolutely them and b) I don’t personally consider them reading. The reason I don’t consider it reading is purely that it is a ‘doing word’. I wouldn’t watch the Grand Prix on TV then tell everyone I’d raced in the Grand Prix. That being said, audiobooks are a great way to ‘consume’ stories not only for people unable to physically read books for whatever reason but for those like me who can. Thanks for the vid Leo and keep up the good work in introducing us more content.

I have dyslexia and audio books are a god send. I read so slow without them and it's discouraging. What I do is I have the physical/ebook version and follow along with the audio book. That's how I like to do it. I still read books that don't have an audiobook sometimes, but it is really difficult.

I personally love setting reading goals and turning it into a sort of challenge/game; it keeps me on task. I just started getting back into reading after like a decade of not reading a single book. I set my goal to 50 last year and ended up reading 64. This year I’m aiming for 100 and I’m right on track (actually a few books ahead) at 30 read atm. I’m personally quite proud of my progress, especially considering that I literally stopped reading entirely after college. I was afraid I’d become illiterate but that clearly not the case. LOL

I mostly read what I like but have forced myself outside of my comfort zone a little and pushed myself through books I hated. I try to balance it by reading books I’m fairly confident that I’ll like after ones that I didn’t. My TBR is more like a long list of things I thought sounded interesting. I don’t read it in any particular order, but I do generally pick something from the list when deciding on the next book. I read really slowly and it bothers me to read more than one book at once. I tried listening to a couple of audiobooks last year but it’s just not the same IMO, I prefer physical books. Unlike most people, I have a lot of free time to read, so it works for me.

booktok got me out of a huuuuge reading slump, getting me motivated to do something I could be doing, which the media has helped work out for me with not just reading but exercising and going out too

I relate to the bringing books everywhere thing 😂 I’ve brought books to parties and hangouts with friends so many times

This is an excellent video with great advice! :D
Last year I read more than 100 books for the first time ever. And the biggest thing for me was to prioritise reading during the day. It's really lovely and calming and a good break from the screens!
This year I set my reading goal to 1 book haha. I love seeing how many I've read, but this year I decided to have no goal.

I never used to set any tbrs before, but I've joined some readathons and then it works really well for me because I have a specific reason for reading each book. Without a readathon I will pick out a few I think I might want to read and just go from there.

This video is absolutely fantastic. I loved the tips! I totally agree with you when you say we should be more realistic with our reading pace. I know that you only talk about books, so I'm sorry if I'm being annoying by asking you this. I really like your taste in books and I was wondering if you could talk a little bit more about the dutch culture, like your taste in music or movies that are popular in your country, or even books. If you know any channels that talk about the dutch culture but they speak english in the videos, can you recommend some? I'm not sure if I'm being silly by asking you this. It's just that I love your content and would love to see more about your culture.

I'm unable to get into audiobooks, I don't know why :(
I've tried a few times, different genres and everything. I just can't get into the story. And I end up getting bored and frustrated very early on.
