I like all 5 Persona lelouch had dawn:

Lelouch Lamperouge - The exiled prince living as a cog in the system set by wars that has no power or ability but only ideals.

Zero - Rebel living under the facade of a hero trying to free the people from their conqueror and avenging the weak from the powerful.

Julius Kingsley - Arrogant and flamboyant but critical and smart military advisor whos purpose is to serve the Britannian Empire no matter the risk and consequence.

Lelouch Vi Britannia - One True self of the prince whos been exile whos goal is for the betterment of the many than himself nor an individual.

Lastly,

L.L. - nothing is know yet but still a person with the resolve.

Lelouch vi Britannia : a young child prince who's mother was killed in a political scheme

Lelouch Lamperouge : a teenager school boy who hides his true identity to fit in regular society

Zero : a machiavelian rebel who uses japanese people to fight Britannia

Lelouch Emperor : a prince back from hell who wants to conquer the world (and does)

L.L : an immortal being free from his past who can now live his eternal life as he pleases

As much as I want him to live and be happy, the execution in the plot that leads to his resurrection was all over the place.
That's why a lot of people dislike it. Hate to say it but they didn't have enough time to make it work.
For me, it has nothing to do with the "impact" of him dying. I don't really mind if they bring them back later, since he had decided to sacrifice himself in the both of the stories. It doesn't matter if he lives or not. He had no idea he could be resurrected. Besides he would already have lost his place in the world anyway.

Wait where did you get him being 12 and being sent to Japan? He's 17 at the start of Code Geass and Suzaku and he both mention seven years passing since they last saw each other (i.e. when Japan was taken over by Brittania and became Area 11). Prior to this he'd spent a some time (at least part of if not a full summer) with Suzaku and his sister at the Kururugi Shrine).

The concept is really neat and it feels like full of potential. But something feels lacking/missing that I don't know.

As it is, it's just a chronological time line, I just yearn for it to be a little bit more interesting.

Maybe if you add levels that change with each version, it would feel more interesting to watch. Like, strenght stat, intelligence stat and list of skills that change by versions. They don't have to be objective, your estimates would be enough for characters that don't have official stats.
