Does knowing how a food is made ever make you like it more/less?

I love the part when they were talking about why they were using that rectangular shape and its benefits it then proceeded to show the tube shaped tins.

Fun fact, the term corn actually predates the usage of what Americans refer to as corn. The term corn was used to refer to any grain. Corned beef refers to using corns of salt because the salt is the size of corn or grain. Early on, yellow corn was referred to as Indian Corn as it came from the Americas. A lot of other countries still use the term corn to mean grain so American corn is usually refereed to as maize which is why corn mazes exist as its a play on words.

Salt corns were no the size of Corn (Maize) kernals. They were (and are) the size of Wheat berries. In Europe the word corn refers to any grain. not just Maize.

Honestly, I was afraid to watch this video in fear of what would be revealed since I eat the stuff occasionally, but, it wasn't too bad at all other than the high salt and fat content, which I already knew.

To open a brick shaped can you can using a side opening can opener remove the top and bottom and it will fall out the wide end, to aid this proccess keep the can in the fridge for a day to firm up the contents

I love canned corned beef. The best way to enjoy it is: Tear off the label from the can, and as much glue residue as you can. Rinse the can off under hot water. Be very careful when using the "key" to open the can, it's easy to do right, but also easy to mess it up. Save the top part of the tin to close off the can, if you are not using the whole thing. Fry it under light heat (low-medium on most stoves) to melt the fat, warm it up, and produce any crispness you may desire. Then it's ready for application onto... anything!

Corned beef actually takes name from a 16th century method of making gunpowder where the ingredients were mixed mixed up with a liquid usually urine became a block of materials bound together and was known as corned powder this was used by all armies and navies until the advent of smokeless powder in the latter 19th century. Hence the preserved tinned beef using a similar system became known as corned beef

All the huge cuts of prime steak in the video have never been near a can of corned beef, they use mechanically recovered carcass bits.
