Chef I almost lost my thumb trying to open one of these cans last summer. You helped me from almost cutting off another thumb. I love you man. Thx for this.

Never would I bother to watch a video on “how to open canned corned beef” except for the fact that it is by Chef Buck & CG! Always, will I learn something and get to laugh along!

39 and never learned how to do this growing up. Feel like you just filled in an empty hole in my childhood. Feeling very fulfilled now. And not just from the corned beef.

Hahahaha!! This can is my nemesis. Thanks for the instructions!! I always break the key off in the can. I must always have a Blue Moon!! Have a great week, Chef and Camera Girl!!

...and here I've been using my reciprocating saw the whole time. Your way makes cleaning up a whole lot easier.

Loved the video! I've been eating canned corned beef for years and have broken many a key. It's especially frustrating if you're camping and nowhere near a can opener -it can get really messy! I eat it mixed with onions and mayo on sandwiches. The only problem is the mayo dries up so you have to add more the 2nd day. Or I just slice it up and slather the bread with mayo to make sandwiches - pretty basic way to eat it. My step-grandfather was a war veteran and introduced me to this; plus spam or those little vienna sausages (those are gross IMO but my aunt loves them). Spam and pineapple casserole is pretty good. These are all foods that would survive the apocalypse or a pandemic!

Genius !!! Thanks so much for this ! I was stuck with a corn beef can and did not know how to open it. Was going to wait for my husband to come back from work before cooking when I researched for a video and yours helped me! Thanks so much

I was about to give up when my key broke, but your tutorial was so entertaining I staid until you told me a can opener would work. Thank you.

Oh man this story about opening a can with a key. My wife and I many decades ago were both not allowed to open these types of containers. Both of our parents from different backgrounds and miles apart had the same thing to say to us. You can't do it for if you break the key well you get the idea. Thanks for posting and by the way I always treat myself every Saturday morning to your recipe Eggs for Fancy People. I love it. Thanks alot.

I find that after I opened the can (never had a malfunctioning can yet) I usually open the other end with a regular can opener then run the blunt end of a knife all around then push a bit and out it comes. This gets a cleaner, neater product (if that's what you want) makes slicing a lot easier.
