I am seeing more and more electric Hyundai and Kia on the road here in the USA, and I'm proud to drive one myself, a 2023 Kia EV6 GT.
I'm glad Hyundai and Kia are showing a strong commitment to Electric Vehicles, even in the face of reduced demand which has caused other auto manufacturers to rethink their commitment to EVs.
I really think this slump in EV demand in the USA is temporary. As soon as interest rates drop we're going to see sales spike and it's going to be harder for other companies to compete with Hyundai and Kia since they're giving us so many great options.

I'm truly glad the U.S. version doesn't have those digital mirrors on the side. It looks like they glued on a tv screen to the door.

Great video! Thanks for all clear explanations. Just got back from Korea and of course a part the extremely charming country I could had a good glance at the Korean car brands. Fell in love with the Ioniq 5!!!!

I hope the US version gets the built in dash cam and digital rearview mirror. This is a really well done comparison, thank you!

Great comparison! Glad to see the addition of a rear wiper. New black background display looks nice - panels may even be a bit larger?

Note: a lot of those great "Ionic 5" features that you were raving about are only available on the Limited top-level trim (vision roof, relaxation mode, moveable center console)

Fantastic informative comparison! I am looking to acquire an Ionic 5. I’m gonna wait for the 2025 to come out in Canada because I love the changes they’ve done to it. Thanks so much for the thorough review!! 😎

I am really not joking, but there are NO big changes as you said so. That's really a good thing. The most important thing is that it's a bit more efficient and drives better, top feature a rear window wiper.

I really like the Ioniq 5!

The changes are subtle, but it definitely gives a different impression and I like it. Like you said, I think it's because of how it makes it a little more aggressive, as opposed to the older model, feels more like a casual feel. As a result, I think that the white somehow looks nicer on the PE model too.

Thanks so much for these videos. We just added an EV9 to our family. Hoping the IONIQ 5 N-line comes to the USA fully featured. If so, that’s our next purchase. We typically keep our cars for ten year cycles and this is the year!

I would get the 5N, but no HUD and no vision roof are dealbreakers for the US spec.

Very details comparaison! Thank you. Let's see when this PE model will be available in Europe. I'm currently driving Tucson Plug-In and I might move to full electroc with the IONIQ5.

Great video! Can’t wait till the 2025 comes to the US. I’m sure no one knows today [May 3, 2024] but if anyone finds out in the future please reply and let us know!

This side-by-side comparison is absolutely great. Makes it so easy to spot the changes. Please keep that for the future.

Like the upgrades all around (maybe except for the glovebox 😉). Most interesting for me to know are:
How good is the nav compared to AA/CP?
Is it still cold-gating? (Maybe hard to test in Korea)
Is it still rapid-gating? (Both flavours: 92% SoC charging pause and the power limit after fast charging)

I like the digital side mirrors idea. Better visibility even when raining. Also love the rear view camera can be adjusted. Moving island is genius! Physical buttons! Was thinking I’ll get the new 2025 X3 but honestly this new Ioniq 5 might sway me….
