I'm curious: What is the thin line between getting a cleaner and getting a sensor replacement?

Like, I don't want to get a replacement if it needs to be cleaned and vice versa, ya know?

I had to replace my water outlet in my 15 Chevy Cruze, and I had to disconnect my sensor to get to it. It was working fine before I replaced it.

always use maf sensor cleaner, it evaporates in seconds unlike most other cleaners.

My problem is that when i screw the sensor with a screwdriver it doesmt work, if i let the screws a little loose and only tighten them by hand it works, why ???
