An Antidote to Silly Mistakes on Math Tests

Do you ever make stupid mistakes on your math tests because you’re hurrying too much?

I have a client who was consistently scoring a letter grade lower every test because of silly mistakes. My solution for him? Honestly I always understand the material. I always get Bs because I make dumb mistakes. I double check my work. I move slow. I write down all my work neatly. Nothing helps.

Imagine I knew how to do every question on my math test but I ended up getting 65 out of 80 which was 2 marks off a grade 9 from silly mistakes :(. this was very helpful

I try everything and I can’t get rid of my anxiety which makes it even worse and I make a dumb mistake

Yeah, I’m studying for a commission test, and I keep making simple mistakes for larger problems . Like 3•9 is 27, but writing 3•9 is 24 or something when doing large number arithmetic, and missing answers because a number back in the beginning of equation was wrong .

Could’ve got 90+ but I got 84 cause I did the correct calculations but wrote down a different number, my working outs are also correct but wrote it in the wrong place and from all that and I as I wrote this down I realized it’s all because of time, when low on time I tend to rush through and speedrun so remember this and keep telling yourself this, it is better to get the answers correct but not completing the test then completing the test but gets it all wrong, with enough practice overtime you’ll be able to think faster and more accurate I hope my experience would help you too

Could get 87/100 and got 54/100 becouse Im a fucking idiot. Mixing minuses and pluses, geting the right answer and then using the wrong number and by some way my god geting 5x5=35... kill me. How can this happen to a 17y old.

thank you for addressing this but timing and making note of the mistakes is not solving the problem, it will just show how many mistakes one makes in a test/homework etcs
