Did Kyle Shanahan cost the 49ers a Super Bowl by not knowing the new playoff OT rules?

It was a Super Bowl for the ages, but a decision in overtime may have cost one team the win.

Kyle Shanahan decided to take the ball first in OT, which ended up backfiring for the San Francisco 49ers, as the Kansas City Chiefs marched down the field to score a game-winning TD.

After the game, several SF players said they were not aware of the new OT rules, which begs the question: did Shanahan cost the 49ers a Super Bowl?

The NFL had new rules in place for overtime in the playoffs and some San Francisco 49ers players say they didn't discuss as a team what to do in that scenario, so Kyle Shanahan decided to take the ball first in overtime and that decision may have cost them the Super Bowl as the Kansas City Chiefs won the game, which was Patrick Mahomes' third Super Bowl victory.

Kyle Shanahan is the main reason for the 49ers loss.
Misuse of OPOY, abandoning the running game spelled doom. KC does not have a great defense, but the play calling at critical times in the game came back to bite the 49ers.

Guys like Bulls or Earl are so envious of players that they criticize to their own ignorance. To blame players for not knowing the OT rules is just ignorant. This is the epitome of why Shanahan is not a champion because he does not know how to prepare his teams for everything. His development ability was exposed. That was supposed to be instructed during the year.
