Its not to make a black Magneto, but to sculpt a head that resembles illustrators that just show the eyes, and push shadows. Done in the comics often!!

This is a good looking statue, though they did make him look like he just came out of a 10hr work out from Gold's gym. Sharp piece.

I think whit the blackface, they try to make just like in the comics just how shadows make it look more interesting. Great review

I think its blackend to give the illusion of him with glowing eyes or something. Maybe it could help if his eyes do actually glow.

Ok I really like this Magnito. I do like the helmetless portrait as well. With the age of Appocalips his face is not black, it is just the lighting effect gives more shadow in the helmet. I agree with you that he is too muscular in this version. I would have liked him less built, but do not give it less points because of it. Definitely a W for me.

Finally got this after 3 tries, they sent me a kit, said it's be like 1.5 years to get it done. But found on in groups for a reasonable price and I love it but the base is sooo big like you mentioned

It is shaded black to make it look like his face is in shadow. All menacing like. Thanks for the video. Been waiting for this. I am pretty sure I will grab this baby.

Huge AoA fan. Wish i could have grabbed this. His face is black because in the AoA line, the artists depicted magneto with a black face as well as his helmet was different from the regular universe helmet. I assume it was bigger and hence, hid his face more. I would also assume it was a play on the change in his character when wearing the helmet - more family orientated without it and more vengeful with. He was also drawn more muscular in this timeline so i think the musculature is fine tbh. Read the books man, you wont regret it. One of the best x-men storylines ever
